 The acronym for IAF is Indian Air Force. First of all, I would like to tell you that you can join Indian Air Force through NDA(National Defence Academy) and CDS(Combined Defence Services) examinatiions. Both the NDA and the CDS examinations are conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) every year. The age eligibility for joining IAF are prescribed as below:- * For NDA examination, age limit is 16.5-19 yrs. * For CDS examination, age limit is 19-23 yrs. As you have stated that you know the age limit for the IAF (Indian Air Force). I would like to repeat the things here for your complete information regarding your query. Any candidate who is willing to join the Indian Air Force , can do the same through the following ways : a) NDA & NDA Examination - Conducted by UPSC b) CDS Examination - Conducted by UPSC The Age Limit for NDA Examination : 16.5-19 years. Hello Dear, You can join IAF Indian Air Force by two way through UPSC . there are two exam NDA exam and CDS exam. both exam conducted By UPSC twice in a year. NDA stands for National Defence Academy. CDS stands for Combined defense services. You can join Indian Air Force through two ways : a) NDA Exam b) CDS Exam The Age Limit for NDA Exam is : your age should lie in between 16.5-19 years. The Basic Process Candidates, short-listed for Air Force after the initial selection procedure, go through a rigorous three-year training regimen at the National Defence Academy, followed by specialised training at the Air Force Academy. Thereafter, they are commissioned as officers and posted as pilots at any of the Air Force Stations. To be in the National Defence Academy You can join NDA by taking the exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This exam is conducted twice a year in all major cities throughout India. To know more about the application process click here. Eligibility Criteria To join the NDA you need to fulfil the following requirements: Age 16 ½ to 19 years* Nationality Indian Gender This is applicable only to men. Educational Qualifications You should have passed your 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics. Final year students can also apply. Advertisemetn Schedule March and October every year. NDA i,e National Defense Academy : This is conducted by the union public service commission under the india deface examination and this is a common entrance exam for entry level in following 3 levels;.. Indian Navy Indian Air Force Indian Army For joining in above mention wings,you need to write the entrance exam connected by the upsc i.e NDA required requirements are follow bellow;.. Required Requirements : First required educational qualifications are you must completed the 10+2 with maths as a compulsory subjects for indian air force and indian navy. |

If you want to appear NDA examination then your age must be within 16.5 to 19 years. There are also some other criteria like : >>You must complete 10th standard examination. >>your height must be minimum 165 cm. >>You must be an Indian. All the best....... |

However, To join as an engineer or to join the flying branch of Indian Air Force, the maximum age limit is 23 years. Candidates who have done 3 years course after graduation may join the logistics and the administrative branch up to the age of 27 years. A chartered accountant or an ICWA professional may join the accounts branch of Indian Air Force up to the age of 27 years. Since your age is 29, I am sorry to say but you are not eligible to join any of the branches of Indian Air Force, no matter what your qualification is. At the age of 29 year you are not eligible for I.A.F.. You can't apply for any Defence services at age of 29 year.. You have to do job in other govt job like I.A.S, I.P.S, I.F.S etc.. GOOD LUCK! |

Re: Age limit to enter the IAF(India Air Force)? No you can not join at age of 20 years with just intermediate as your educational qualifications. There is only entry for 12th pass students but the age limit for that is from 16 to 19.5 years. But try yourself after graduation. |

The officer cadre provides opportunities for men with 10+2 / Intermediate (only in the Flying branch), graduates (all three branches), engineers (all three branches) and postgraduates (all branches except the Flying branch) in the various positions. Women with graduate (all three branches), engineering (all three branches) and post graduate degrees (all branches except the Flying branch) have openings as an Officer in the Air force. The career options and eligibility for the candidates having different educational qualifications for the Officer Cadre in the different branches of the Air force are given in the following links. Intermediate (10+2) Graduate Post Graduate Engineers Age-limit should be 18-22 years. |

I am sorry to say that there is job at the age of 29 year in Indian Air Force. For N.D.A you can apply FROM 16.5-19 YEAR. In C.D.S exam you can apply in between 19-24 year after graduation. Booth the exam is conducted by U.P.S.C. good luck! |
