Hello, to become an astronaut, you should have to choose science stream in your 11th and 12th class with subjects like physics,chemistry and maths combination(PCM)...and you should have to get minimum 65% to get admission in aeronautical engineering or airspace engineering course to become an astronaut... so all the best. |

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, biological science, physical science, or mathematics. An advanced degree is desirable. Quality of academic preparation is important. 2. At least 1,000 hours pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft. Flight test experience is highly desirable. 3. Ability to pass a NASA space physical which is similar to a military or civilian flight physical and includes the following specific standards: Distant visual acuity: 20/100 or better uncorrected, correctable to 20/20 each eye. Blood pressure: 140/90 measured in a sitting position. Height between 62 and 75 inches. |

Re: What should I do after completion of 12th class to become an Astronaut? You can do Engineering from very Reputed Institution to be Astronaut in future.
You can do engineering in fields like 1, COMPUTER ENGINEERING 2, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY 3, ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING 4, AERONAUTICS ENGINEERING etc after your 12th. There are many good institutes from where you can do engineering course in INDIA. For doing ENGINEERING from good institution you have seat for examination like AIEEE or IIT-JEE or etc. If score really well in these examination than you can get desired/very reputed engineering college in which you will get best education about your field.  BASIC REQUIREMENT FOR ASTRONAUT CANDIDATE PROGRAMME 1.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT HEIGHT - 62-72 inches BP - 140/90 EYE SIGHT - 20/20 vision (corrective eye surgeries e.g lasik allowed) 2. QUALIFICATION BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN ENGINEERING BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE PHYSICAL SCIENCE COMPUTER SCIENCE OR MATHEMATICS 3.EXPERIENCE - 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE OF RELEVANT PROFESSION OR 1000 hours of pilot-in-command in jet aircraft. 4.A candidate has to be US citizen. Final selection is based on completeing the training including space stationsystems,robotics skills training learning russian and air craft fight readiness.
