For general awareness you can follow the book "CSR General Knowledge Year Book by Competition Success Review "

Also make an habbit of reading newspapers daily at least do read the editorial columns..The newspapers that you can read are The Hindu" , " The Times of India".Also do watch news on television.

That much doing will be enough for general awareness.

for general awareness, you should watch & listen news on national news channels. Like aaj tak, CNN-IBN, NDTV etc. And read daily newspapers. These are best for books because experience of subject is best to study of subject. If you want to study the books, so you should read weekly or monthly news magazines. Like
1.Tehelka - India's
Independent Weekly News Magazine
2. Amar ujala Safalta monthly news magazine.
And there many books availabe on book depot. For general knowledge & awareness. So you should go there and select any one.

Frankly saying only book is not sufficient for general knowledge. To become strong in general knowledge you should read newspaper daily and also you have to see news on television. you have to collect information from everywhere you will be able to collect.

There are number of books for GENERAL AWARENESS available in the market but you can get a copy of PRATIYOGITA DARPAN,COMPETITION SUCCESS REGULAR ISSUE,LUCENTS GENERAL KNOWLEDGE which is more than enough.And make it a habit reading the dailies as you can be aware of the daily happenings around the world.
