Re: Difference between Applied Psychology and Clinical Psychology? Difference between Applied Psychology and Clinical Psychology
"Applied" psychology is exactly what it sounds like. It means using psychology in a helpful way (e.g., counseling). ANY branch of psychology could be considered "applied" given an appropriate context. Clinical psychology is one form of applied psychology. Other branches of the field which could be considered "applied" include counseling psychology, school psychology, industrial/organizational psychology and others. |

Re: Difference between Applied Psychology and Clinical Psychology? dear friend, Applied Psychology is using knowledge that's already been discovered to further that knowledge. For example, we know why babies cry but someone who practices applied Psychology will look further into the action. A clinical Psychologist will run experiments to discover knowledge. So basically, without clinical Psychology, we wouldn't have applied Psychology. ~regards~ priyo06 |
