Re: To do research in nuclear physics, which engineering stream to choose?

Dear sir
i have a keen interest in research but i would love to know that is there a valid field of research available after engineering or is it better to go the conventional way which is 2,bachelors,masters and then research especially when one is yet to opt for engineering.please give a lucid reply.
thanks a lot

If you are interested in some research work then I think mechanical engineering is the best option but in good institutes like some NITs or IITs.

Re: To do research in nuclear physics, which engineering stream to choose?

As you are so much interested in nuclear physics, you can definitely turn that way to make a wonderful career. It studies the internal structure of atomic nuclei and interactions with other nuclei. Usually you should have a graduation in physics or engineering to pursue a career in nuclear physics. Now days, the careers, in this field is well paid and increased opportunities attract scholars. ISRO and DRDO recruits scholars in this field as vast numbers as scientists. IIT, Kanpur, IIS, Bangalore, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics provide courses on this subject.

hhii

u can choose any stream electrical could be detter..
but specailly nuclear engiunnering is not any branch.. after that u can do ur PG in nuclecar energy..
some of the institute are..
ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) and DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization) are major recruiters of nuclear scholars and scientists.

1.Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur,
Website: http://www.iitk.ac.in/

Course: Doctoral degree in Nuclear Engineering and Technology

2.Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
Website: http://cts.iisc.ernet.in/

Course: Research programs in particle collision, and high energy collisions

3.Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics,
Website: http://www.saha.ac.in/cs/www/index

Course: Research in Atomic and Nuclear Physics
4. BARC..

good luck..

Re: To do research in nuclear physics, which engineering stream to choose?

to do research in nuclear physics best option is to study B.Sc and after that M.Sc on physics. because here you can study nuclear physics more specifically.

but if you want to study only engineering then you have to study electronics and communication engineering stream or electrical engineering stream.

Dear friend,
there are two top institutes named ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) and DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization) which demands nuclear scholars and scientists.

any other institues are as follows
IIT,Kanpur,
IIT,Kharagpur
the department is
Doctoral degree in Nuclear Engineering and Technology .
Good luck.

Re: To do research in nuclear physics, which engineering stream to choose?

dear friend,

you should opt for mechanical as it deals with physics a lot.

this will help you a lot in understanding. As in mechanical we have mechanics , thermodynamics, shear forces cocepts these all are applied in physics.

Re: To do research in nuclear physics, which engineering stream to choose?

Hello friend ,
nuclear engineering and electrical engineering are far apart from each other.
You must go there where you have interests. you take your career trowards nuclear science do it from IIT's institutes, don,t bother for job opportunities they will come along with u.
Good luck!

Re: To do research in nuclear physics, which engineering stream to choose?

Dear friend,

You cannot be in two sides on the same time. Either you go as your interest in nuclear physics or in the electronics or electrical engineering field for safety of future according to you.

Personally , i believe one should go the way where his interest is.
As your keen interest is in nuclear physics, you must make your career with it and with that you will not have to be worried about job which will come along the same way.

Jobs in nuclear physics exist in research and educational institutes in India. Scholars are appointed as scientists, specialists, and fellowship scholars in research institutions.

ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) and DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization) are major recruiters of nuclear scholars and scientists.

You can pursue nuclear physics in these most prestigious institutes:

1.Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur,
Website: http://www.iitk.ac.in/

Course: Doctoral degree in Nuclear Engineering and Technology

2.Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
Website: http://cts.iisc.ernet.in/

Course: Research programs in particle collision, and high energy collisions

3.Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics,
Website: http://www.saha.ac.in/cs/www/index

Course: Research in Atomic and Nuclear Physics

Wish you best of luck!

To do research in nuclear physics, which engineering stream to choose?

dear sir,
i have just finished my 12th with 86%and look fwd to do research in nuclear physics.
but over a period iv discovered that i am good in my favourite subject which is electronics in which iv scored 99. now i am confused between two branches of engineering which are mechanical AND electrical and elecronics. im looking forwad for engineering because im interested in learning technical so that if by any reason im unable to do research i can apply for a job. this is just to be on safer side.

basically my keen interest is in nuclear physics, and i come from a family which keeps facing financial problems.so please guide me wat should i do to so that i can get into research after engineering.

please tell me which line or course would be better so that i can persue nuclear research later.

thank you.
