Hello Friend,

The minimum qualification for NET exam is a Masters degree with a minimum marks of 55%. 5% marks relaxation is allowed for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
Your age should be above 19 years for Lectureship program. If you want to join the Junior Research Fellowship program then your age should be between 19-28 years. 5 years relaxation is allowed for ST/SC/PWD candidates.

I have 54.8% in PG in English through ignou which considers the above percentage as 55%. Am I eligible for UGC NET exam?

NET and JRF exam conduct by UGC two times in a year in the month of june and december.

Qualification for NET Exam- anybody who want to sit in ugc net exam,should be complete their post graduate with 55% marks in any subject from any recognised university.Candidates who are appear in the final year of post graduation are also eligible to apply for exam.you have to select only that subject by which you have completed your Post Graduation.

Age Limit: for jrf exam 28 years for general.(Relaxation for other category).
for lecturership, no upper age limit.

hello...
yes you can apply for UGC NET... as it requires pst graduate with minimum 55% marks.. if you got it than you will be appear in this exam.

Dear Friend

The eligibility criteria for UGC-NET examination is as under;

Educational Qualification
Master degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Science,
Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Sciences etc.
with at least 55% marks (GEN/OBC candidates)/50% marks (SC/ST/PH candidates),
are eligible for the exam.

Age Limit:
As such there is no age limit for those who are applying for eligibility for Lectureship only.
But the upper age limit for those who are applying for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
is 28 years.

You can download the syllabus of NET examination from UGC website.
You must choose subject for NET exam according to your educational background.

Those candidate have completed masters degree from recognized university are eligible for NET exam.

For general and OBC candidate must be hold 55%above in masters degree. SC/ST candidate must be hold 50% above in masters degree.

Part time course are not eligible for NET exam.

For Junior research fellowship course your age must be in between 19 to 28 years.

For lectureship ,There is no upper age limit but the Minimum age is 19 years.

NET exam is conduct because of govt college lecturer and PHD entrance.
