Re: Which one has more government jobs: biochemistry or microbiology? both the subjects are more or less the same. as far sa govt jobs are concerned i had come across many jobs that look for biochemistry or chemistry rather than microbiology. but if you are interested in research line, both have nearly same value. |

Teaching and Research are the common areas in Biochemistry and Microbiology where candidates can be placed.The other job opportunities in Biochemistry include Biochemist, Product Support Specialist/Analyst, Technician/ Technical, Lab Technician Officer, Biochemical development engineer ,Biostatistician.Career prospects in Microbiology include Microbiologists, Technical or science writer, water companies and the Environment Control and Monitor Agency, Pharmaceutical companies. Food and Drug Control Department.-Expert of quality control.Sales and marketing departments of microbial products,Municipal/Corporation or public works departments are some of the areas where microbiologists are required. Agriculture and fisheries,Hospitals, Forensic Science,Overseas Development,Public Health Laboratories are some of the areas where Biochemistry candidates find opportunities.Both the domains have equal opportunities. |
