Yes graduates are exempted from appearing in CPT exam. For CA course a candidate after 12th can appear for CPT exam. On clearing CPT candidate have to appear for IPCC exam.

Central Council has announced the allowance of graduates in IPCC directly on fulfillment of following eligibility criteria:
1. Commerce Students-55%
2. Non-Commerce Students-60%

Re: Is the new true about the CPT exemption to graduate student?

Yes, graduates are exempted from writing the CPT. CA course has got 3 different levels. The first level is a foundation exam which a candidate after 12th class needs to attempt. On clearing the CPT exam, one needs to clear the IPCC level. This can be attempted by only graduates. Those graduates who wish to apply for the CA course can directly appear for the IPCC exam without attempting the CPT level exam.
