As, you are arts streamed student,you can apply only for the military branch of Indian force. you can apply through NATIONAL DEFENSE ACADEMY[NDA], conducted by UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION. For appear n this examination, you must have 12th degree from a recognized board. although, you are not eligible for the NAVAL & AIR FORCE wing of the Indian force, because, to do so, you must have physics & maths in 12th. The age limit for this examination is 16.5-19 years.there is not the any kind of age relaxation are applicable for the SC\ST & OBC candidates. also you must have Indian nationality with marital status unmarried. |

Re: How to join Indian Army after completing 12th in Arts?  you can join indian army after 10+2 by giving the exam of NDA. NDA stands for NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY. The exam of NDA is conducted by UPSC twice in a year. ELIGIBLITY FOR NDA EXAM 1. Candidate must passed their 12th with atleast 55% marks. 2. Age of candidate should be in between 16.5 - 19 years. 3.Candidate must be unmarried and Indian. PHYSICAL CRITERIA FOR NDA   For more information: www.upsc.gov.in |

Eligibility for Indian Army :- 1) 10+2 (Through NDA) You have to take an entry level exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to join NDA (National Defence Academy). Eligibility for UPSC exam :- a) Sex :- Male. b) Age Limit :- Between 16 1/2 and 19. Application Forms are published in leading newspapers during March /April. The UPSC (NDA) exam is conducted twice a year (April and October)in all major cities throughout India. Each year course start twice January and July. UPSC (NDA) Syllabus is based on CBSE syllabus. After clearing the written exam you have to go through a five-day interview process with the State Selection Board (SSB) which is the final step . On completion of the NDA course, you are sent to the respective service academies for your pre- commission training. 2) Engineering Graduates (Direct Entry) Engineering graduate can join the Indian Military Academy directly. So, you only need to attend the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview. Eligibility :- Age Limit :- Between 20-27 years at the time of joining. Re: How to join Indian Army after completing 12th in Arts? Hi If you wish to join the Indian Army, then you have to apply for the NDA exam. This basically stands for the National Defense Academy which is an Entrance Examination conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year in the months of April and August to recruit and select candidates for the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. There are some Basic Eligibility Criteria's which are to be fulfilled before anybody can take part in the NDA exam. They are as follows :- 1. You should be an Unmarried Male Indian having age between 16.5 to 19 years. 2. You should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized school or open school. There is no minimum percentage requirements. 3. Physics and Maths are the compulsory subjects that you must have studied if you want to take admission in the Air Force or Navy. 4. Physical and Mental fitness is also very important and a must. Thus check these criteria's and ensure that you fulfill all of them duly. After that you can take the NDA form for the August NDA 2 exam for which the forms are already out. You have to fill it, get the stamp and then submit the application procedure before the 4th June 2012. After that you would be getting the admit card if they find you totally eligible and then you can appear in the exam scheduled on 19th August 2012.
