Re: Career prospects in Biotechnology after 12th hello im a student of 2pu(Karnataka state).my combination is pcmb and I'm interested and sound in biology. strong aspects are that I have a flair in writing,speaking and can organize and hold good presentations and also have conducted few seminars and taught my fellow students on various bio topics. I would like to know about career in bio technology and the best colleges in india to pursue and what branch may suit me and the salary I may get.do I need to write separate entrance exams to apply for VIT, MANIPAL or can I go through with my pu and cet marks?. my pu result of pcb aggregate is 58%. am I eligible(general merit)?please guide me. |

Re: Career prospects in Biotechnology after 12th If you want to make your carrer in biotech field then at first choose your work field. 1.As a scientist- for this you will have to complete your Ph.d in which you want to search further. 2.As a quality products testing man in food products company- for this you can apply after your graduation 3.You can join the pharma company after graduation. 4. you can join the biotech company like panacea,biocon,genetech and many other. Best institute for doing graduation in biotech:- 1.VIT 2.Manipal 3. Amity 4.SRM After graduation please try to qualify the pg course entrance exam of JNU which aill you a good scholarship amont also and JNU is head of Biotech. |

Re: Career prospects in Biotechnology after 12th Hi dear, Irrespective of your group in your Intermediate you are eligible to do Biotechnology course. If you are an mpc or bipc group candidate,try to go for BTech biotechnology which will be offered in few college only. So getting good rank in EAMCET is must inorder to join. After Btech completion you may have bright opportunities or you can also go for M.tech. For joining B.SC biotech, whatever the group you are in your 10 + 2 you are eligible. In BSC the various combinations will be 1. Biotechnology-biochemistry-chemistry 2.biotechnology-botany-chemistry 3.biotechnology-zoology-chemistry 4.biotechnology-microbiology-chemistry. Advantages: 1.High demand for the biotech people because of shortage of biotechnicians 2.wide number of opportunities in all pharmaceutical and biotech companies 3.After completing msc biotech and if you start research, you will be paid minimum of 100000 per month 4.Biotechnology is all about making human beneficial products by using micro organisms and new technologies. 5.So new technologies coming and creating lot of employment. Disadvantages 1.Just simply joining and completing the course in unreputed college will not fetch you anything. 2.I dont know your group in intermediate.if you are a arts student better clear about the terminology of biology and put hard efforts. Re: Career prospects in Biotechnology after 12th hello,I have entered 11th this year and thinking of opting for PCM and preparing for IIT-JEE because I have an unbiased interest in biotechnology and physics.I am not good in biology.Is B-tech by biotechnology a better option for me? Or is there any other course more suitable for me? And if there is then please give me some information regarding Entrance Exam for the colleges which are providing the course.I'll very grateful if you could help me in any way. Please Help. |

Re: Career prospects in Biotechnology after 12th if you want to grow your career in biotechnology field after 12th you have to og for graduation study in biotechnology. after 12th you may go for B.Sc in biotechnology or B.Tech in Biotechnology. B,Sc in biotechnology is 3years course whereas B.tech in biotechnology is 4 years course. after B.tech scope and job opportunities are much higher than the B.Sc. to take admission in B.tech Biotechnology you have to appear in engineering entrance examination like AIEEE or any state level engineering entrance examination. then take admission in a good institution. after B.tech in Biotechnology you will be eligible for GATE examination in Biotechnology paper. so you may go for M.Tech. biotechnology is developing in India day by day. in future scope of biotechnology will be more higher. in abroad now also there is a good scope in research field of Biotechnology. best wishes. |

Biotechnology can be used as an effective tool for food production, food storing, environmental conservation and preservation etc. Basically In Biotechnology we study about Tissue culture, Stem cell techniques, Immuno-technologies and Photosynthetic etc. The Scope of Biotechnology in India is very wide and the future of Biotechnology in India is very bright. And in recent times, Bio-informatics (going through biological aspects in computer systems and storing them in databases . You did not mention the stream to which you belong in your 12th. I don't know whether you are having the Biology (Botany & Zoology) as the subjects in your 12th or not. If you have biology as the subject in your 10+2, it will be an added advantage for you. Even if you don't have, there is nothing to worry. You can join graduation in Biotechnology either B.Sc in Biotechnology BTech Biotechnology . One can have good life through Biotechnology if he complete P.hd or by research. And post graduation in Biotechnology too have its own job opportunities. All the best |

Eligibility: - Passed 12th standard with 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology from a regonised board of secondary education. After B.E. or B.Tech. or B.Sc. in Biotechnology you can do M.E. or M.Tech. or M.Sc. in Biotechnology. Eligibility: - Passed graduation with 60 % marks in Biotechnology from a regonised university. You can opt for bsc. if you have bio only otherwise you can give btech biotech entrance exams also Some universities provide 5 year integrated btech/mtech porgram You can consider the following universities- All India Institute of Medical Sciences-btech GGS Indraprastha University , Delhi . - B.Tech /M.Tech [Dual Degree] Indian Institute Of Technology , M.Tech- Integrated 5yrs Dual Degree, Biochemistry Engg.& Biotechnology Banasthali Vidyapeeth-B.Sc/B.Sc(Hon) Amity Institute Of Biotechnology-B.Sc Biotechnology Jamia Millia Islamia University .
