Tips for the preparation of IES exam: -Get acquainted with the latest examination pattern and syllabus of the exam. -Divide your time efficiently. Make sure that sufficient time is dedicated to prepare each paper. -Practice full-length mock test, comprising of all the sections, within the fixed time period. -Go through the previous years’ question papers. Compare them and see what types of questions are repeated every year. -Read Newspaper and articles, watch TV news especially the morning bulletin, quiz contests, etc, surf websites in order to prepare for General Ability Test section, and pay attention to grammar, in order to minimize mistakes. -Good expressions and grammatically correct sentences should be used. -Handwriting should be legible. -Manage your time table such that it has good mix of study hours for General Ability Section and other papers as it makes studies enjoyable and it becomes easy to sustain the momentum for longer hours, without boredom setting in and without losing interest and enthusiasm. -Try to complete all the sections prior to time limit, so that substantial time is left for revision. Hi friend, Well the eligibility criteria for appearing this exam is that you need to have minimum of pass certificate in your B.E under the following course. 1.Electronics and telecommunication engineering. 2.Electrical engineering. 3.Mechanical engineering. 4.Civil engineering. You can refer to books like G.k publication and Arun sharma's book.For coaching centers i recommend you to take from IES academy from Delhi if possible. Best of luck. |

Hello friend, Its good to hear that you are applying for IES exam.The best coaching center in Chennai are Chennai GPO, Anna Road, St. Thomas Mount.It is a exam conducted by UPSC.The syllabus has change for IES exam from this year.You can refer to books like Gold publication,G.K publication etc.I have attached some of the sample question papers for this exam.You can refer it and prepare accordingly to it.
