Re: Does university rankings play a big role in value of MBA? dear friend, University rank doesn't play any role in value of MBA, but it can help you to get a job in good company. But it is matter to take admission in good MBA college apart from any lower rank college. You should take admission in top rank B school, because you can get so many chances to recruit in good companies. good luck. |

Re: Does university rankings play a big role in value of MBA? Hi, It is a cent percent true fact that rankings do matter in case of MBA. Unless you opt for a good institute, there will not be any benefit of doing MBA. Its not like doing engineering as it is a professional course. |

Dear ningam wangsa, The benefits of a high ranking M.B.A college are - 1) FACULTY - You will be taught by the top ranking professors in the nation, if not the world, as the top ranking colleges manage to recruit the best ones. Hence it obviously follows that learning under the best will hone your skills and help you develop academic and professional traits that will help you later on. 2) INFRASTRUCTURE - A good ranking MBA college will undoubtedly provide access to the best infrastructural facilities that a student would require. This includes state-of-the-art class rooms, presentation rooms,computer labs, recreational facilities like gym, outdoor game fields etc and good hostel facilities all of which directly or indirectly influence the quality of a student's work. 3) PLACEMENT - The best and the most sought after companies in terms of salaries and employee satisfaction like Microsoft, Google , Toyota , Infosys , Wipro, Hewitt, Banks like ICICI, HDFC and countless others do tend to go to only the high ranking colleges for recruitment. 4) OPPORTUNITIES - The exposure in terms of that you would at such a college would be unparalleled to the others. This includes projects, assignments, internships and extra curricular activities. 5) ALUMNI BASE - High ranking colleges do usually have a well established and organized alumni base that helps the under-grads in securing internships and placements. Undoubtedly, the benefits of a high ranking MBA college are many, yet that does not mean that securing admission in a not so highly ranked college would doom your future. That only means that you would have to work extra hard to achieve what you want as that college would perhaps not be able to groom you in a way that the higher ranked ones would and you would have to do most of the work on your own. Well ! dear friend, The answer to your question is NO University rankings absolutely doesnot affect to persue a career in MBA....for doing MBA in a top ranked college...you need to qualify CAT exam...only on the basis of your CAT score...you will be called to join various colleges across the country...to persue MBA....and there nobody is going to ask you about your university ranking... And it is obvious that the quality of education makes impact on the subject, knowledge and learning skills of student studying there. When there are high end professionals teaching you the subject, it is obvious that a sincere student with good conduct (being regular) will have a good subject knowledge. At this point you can understand that such a student is a 'quality student' and can prove himself in industry to reach bigger goals. Hence, a good is enough to stuff value in your education... whether it is MBA or something else. Competition exists everywhere.. so rankings also exist... thus it is not necessary that the college/university shall be a top ranked college/ university to opt for.. what's important is whether the college exists in the competition or not... whether it has a good faculty and facilities (lab, library, etc.,) Hope everything is clear now!! So, inquire about the college in-depth before joining, keeping above things in mind.. and if you are sure that it is best for you then join! Good Luck.

But bear in mind that those who have done MBAs from even private institutes have got jobs and getting good salaries . So you dont worry about quality of university But quality of your study in MBA |
