Re: Exams through which one can enter IAF Indian Air Force? Sir/mam This is Diljeet from ludhiana(Pb). I want to join Indian Air Force. I am doing BCA from IGNOU, New Delhi. I came to know that one can join direct IAF by clearing Bsc with PCM and then clearing CDS Exams for women. Should I continue my BCA as I have also taken admission in BSc(from IGNOU), or go with BSc and then CDS. It is possible to go for CDS after BCA. Please guide me. Also I am an athletic player with participation in nationals.Will sports prove a benefit for me. Is gradation of certiuficates is compulsory. Reply as early as possible. Thanks |

Re: Exams through which one can enter IAF Indian Air Force? dear friends, there is different exams and the schemes through which you can enter in the air force. you can get in to the IAF through NDA and CDS,for the nda the minimum qualification is 12th with mathematics.for cds the minimum qalifiaction is graduation.appart from this you can also take admission in the indian air force through short servise commission.or permanant servise commision. |

UES- Through this the air force personnel shortlists candidates through campus interview. 2. NDA- It is National defence academy, u have to clear a written examination conducted by upsc, after the examination candidates are shortlisted for further selection procedure. 3. SSC- It is short service comissioning through this u can enter various branches of the armed forces of india. 4. CDS- It is Combined defence Services, it is also a mode of entrance in armed forces. thank you |

You can't appear for the NDA but you can appear in CDS(common defence service) this is the best option for you as you are pursuing electronics engineering. Well Manju, let me first tell you that women can join all the branches of AIr Force...be it the Flying Branch, the Technical Branch or the Ground Duty Branch. Since you are an engineering student, I believe you are aiming to join the Technical Branch; as such, you will first need to appear for the Engineering Knowledge Test (or EKT) conducted by IAF's Permanent Commission. This, however, is just the screening test and is followed by a few psychological tests, interviews and medical tests, etc. Just check the webpage http://careerairforce.nic.in/career_opp/caropp_officer_selproc.html for a better understanding of the full recruitment procedure. |

Technical branch FLYING BRANCH: For flying branch there are 3 ways of exam. I. NDA (for 10+2)age limit 16 to 19 II. CDSE (for gradu.)age limit 19 to 23 III. NCC Age limit 19 to 23 Technical Branch: I.Direct Entry Scheme age limit 18 to 28 II. University Entry Scheme age limit 18 to 28 for UES technical branch you must be an engineering student of aeronautical/electronics/mechanical/electrical/cse.GOOD LUCK. |
