If you have the zeal to do the CA Course at this age than you should go for the CPT exams

If you clear the CPT course than you would get enrolment for the IPCC Stage of the CA programme


Next CPT exams would be held in December 2013
Forms for this exam would be filled in October 2013

Candidates who have appeared in class 12th exam or have passed class 12th exam can apply

In the CPT exams questions are asked from the below sections:
Fundamentals of accounting
Mercantile LAWS
General Economics
Quantitative Aptitude

All the questions are asked in objective mode only
Candidates scoring minimum 50% marks are declared as pass
There are negative markings of .25 for each incorrect answer.

CPT exams fees-Rs 1000

Fees for CPT Registration is:
Application Form-Rs 100
CPT registration fees-Rs 6000
Total Rs 6100

I did my graduation (B Com) in 84, thereafter did MBA from IGNOU. In B com I couldn't score good marks so have to appear for CPT. please guide me is it worth to get registered at this age and also tell me whether it is tough to clear.

CPT: Common Proficiency Test

have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent, from any recognized Board.

The course duration is the minimum time that a student has to spend on taking up the course at this level.

It is the period starting from, the time the student gets registered for the course, to the time the student completes the course.

The candidates, who have appeared or appearing in final year of the qualifying examination, are also eligible to apply.


Subjects

Section A: Fundamentals of Accounting (60 Marks)

Section B: Mercantile Law (40 Marks)

Section C: General Economics (50 Marks)

Section D: Quantitative Aptitude ( 50 Marks )


*The entrance test consists of objective type questions.

*The medium of all the questions and instructions is English.

*Examination is held at various centers across India.

i want my dad to pursue CA.. he is having more than 25yrs experience in accounts n auditing field.. he only completed his PUC in earlier 80's.. no other qualification.. so pls tell me the eligibility requirements and the complete procedure to pursue with CPT... ill be very thankfull to u for ur usefull informations

For CPT 10+2 is mandatory, there is no specified age limit as such for the course, you can pursue CPT along with the degree you pursue. CPT is held twice in a year, i.e, in june and december of every year. you will have 4 subjects in CPT namely ECONOMICS, ACCOUNTING, QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE and MERCANTILE LAW. You will have 200 marks paper in which you have to score 100 to be eligible for further CA course, i.e, IPCC(Integrated Professional Competence Course)

cpt is the entrance exam for charted course

eligibility is 12th in any stream

Dear Friend

CPT stands for Competency Professional Test.
It is the first level of Chartered Accountancy exam.

For being eligible for CPT, you should have passed 12th board (or equivalent)
examination from recognized board.

There is no limitation as such in terms of marks scored in 12th and Age.
