Now a days ,IT officers recruited in Banking jobs also through IBPS exam. Dear sir/madam, As you mentioned above that you want to know about the eligibility criteria for the IT officer but IT words has two meanings and i.e Income tax officer and Information technology officer.I will suggest you the eligibility for these two terms seperatly. - If you want to become an Information technology officer then you have many options like in Banking sector, Insurance sector etc. To become these officers you have to apply for the entrance test and the minimum qualification for these posts are graduation in the field of computers with minimum of 55% marks. - If you want to become an Income Tax officer then you have to appear in the SSC combined level test. The minimum qualification required for this test in graduation in any stream and this test is conducted by the central govt every year. Educational Qualification:-To be eligible for becoming an Income Tax Officer one should hold a Bachelor's degree of any stream. 2. Age:-The candidate must have attained the age of 18 years on 1st July of the year of examination and must not have attained 27 years of age on that date. The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. The upper age limit is also relaxed in favor of certain categories of employees working under the Government of India and Defense Services Personnel. Process to become an Income Tax Officer:- Step 1 As a first step the aspirant has to procure the “Application Form” along with required information from the employment newspaper generally published in the month of April. sent the filled Application form. Step 2 Preliminary Examination In the month of May or June the aspirants have to take the “Preliminary examinations” consisting of two papers. The papers are on: a.General Intelligence and General Awareness (Part A) b.Arithmetic(Part B) Step 3 Main Examination Those candidates who are declared qualified in the “Preliminary examination” are supposed to take the final exam. Final examination will consists of two part .Part A will be of written examination and second Part B will be of Personality Test. a.General Studies b.English c.Arithmetic d.Language e.Communication Skill and writing Personality Test After that in the interview to test their personality and mental ability. |

Then you can apply for jobs relating to the IT related aspects and you will become an IT officer.
