Re: IAS Eligibility for Diploma holder in computer engineering and BSc IT IAS (Indian Administrative Service) Diploma course is not equivalent to graduation.For IAS exam you should have graduation degree.So you are not eligible for IAS. IAS Exam Eligibility: Age Eligibility: You need to be between 21 years to 30 years on the 1st August, 2011. Age relaxations exist as per Govt. rules. Academic Eligibility: You must be a graduate from a recognized university. |

No, you are not eligible for writing the IAS exam conducted by UPSC. the minimum eligibility will be graduation in any descipline of education from any authorized organisation. so first complete your graduation and then aplly for the IAS exam. Re: IAS Eligibility for Diploma holder in computer engineering and BSc IT hello everyone,i am doing my cse in engineering college.i want to write civil exams after the completion of my engineering.But recently some of my friends said that the students who did their engineering in computers are not eligible to enter civil services as cse is not considered as seperate branch in national wide.They said only ece,mech,eee etc...students r eligible for that.Actually i never heard this before.I am really tensed.Hope u people send me correct information about this as early as possible.Thank you. |

So sorry to say you are not elligible now, but as you are pursuing B.sc it, after completion of b.sc you are eligible for it. So don't worry. Good luck! |

So first do your BTech from a recognized university and then after completing your degree opt for IAS. Answer few entrance test for lateral entry into 2nd year. So best of luck |

Re: IAS Eligibility for Diploma holder in computer engineering and BSc IT Hi Since you are a diploma holder so its hard to apply IAS examination for you, because the following eligibility is required for IAS exam: The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. |

You must hold a bachelor degree in any stream to be eligible for the exam. you are only eligible to write the exam if you either hold a degree or awaiting final year's result. A diploma is not enough to make you eligible for the civil service examination. The examination is divided into two parts. Preliminary examination and Main examination. You may appear for the Preliminary examination before declaration of final year result of your bachelor programme. But you must have the degree to appear for the Main examination of civil service. |
