I don't know why you choose to work as Assistant Professor after M.Tech degree in Electrical engineering when there are countless number of opportunities for you in both government and private sector. Since Electrical engineering deals with fields associated with power transmission and motor control, the job opportunities are enough out there for M.Tech degree holders.

Electrical Engineers like yourself can make career in various sectors like manufacturing, chemical, wireless, software, electrical equipment etc.

The opportunities depends on your area of specialization in M.Tech. Electrical Engineering has huge scope with science and technology. Photonics, Micro Electronics & VLSI Design, Communication Systems etc are some other areas related to M.Tech. Depending on your expertise you can aim for job in the below companies and industries:

IT Industry
Companies like Intel, Dell, AMD and HCL would have jobs ready for you.

Mobile Communication

Robotics

Consumer Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Units

Research Establishments

Steel Industry

Aircraft and Automobile Industry

Electrically-controlled Industrial Machinery and many more

The government sectors where you can hope for a decent job are:

Hydroelectric Power Plants

Electricity Board

State Road Transport Corporation

National Physical Laboratory in New Delhi

NTPC

Thermal Power Plants

BHEL
