Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study?

In your case you don't need to be interested in coaching institutes.
So here are the guidelines for you
You need to start from the first day of class XI, So that you are able to complete each and every chapter in the syllabus
You should pay as much attention as you can to the theories and concepts because the questions asked are conceptual and require smart thinking
You should complete each and every chapter 'completely' and don't leave even the smallest section of any chapter
You should try a nice amount of sums and numericals
You should also practice various practice papers with a clock in front of you so that you are able to manage your time.
You should not give excessive preference to a particular subject
you should go for good study materials, according to me you should visit www.mtg.in for this purpose
at the end you only need to pray to god

best of luck!!!

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study?

Are you well confident that you can crack IIT-JEE just by preparing at home.
Many students think that they can crack IIT-JEE and AIEEE just by self-study.
But they didn't get selection.
Very few students get selection in IIT-JEE by doing self-study.
If you think, you can succeed,
I would recommend you some books that would help you to prepare for IIT-JEE:

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study?

hi friends,
IIT is a good option
and i must say if you prepare for IIT then you will automatically prepared for other exams too,
so
go through all basics of chemistry, physics and maths
they should be in your finger tips,
and i must say, put your full dedication towards all the subjects, if you are strong enough in maths then don't ignore it make more strong and..crack the IIT jee paper.
hope you have got my point !!!

thanks

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study?

As IIT qustions are besed upon conceptul qustions ,so you have to read every formula and laws and theoritical qustions first . After memorise all laws and formula then you try to solve several qustions from several iit pratice books i.e books of arihant for maths , physics and chemistry.
Then you try to solve past year qustions . If u work heared you will get through .
HERE is some qustions for practice ........

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study?

You have to know about IIT-JEE and AIEEE exam-
Below are the some useful tips-
Total paper of IIT-JEE, AIEEE and other exams are based on NCERT Books.
None of question is not out of 11th and 12th standard Books.
So firstly concentrate on CBSE issued NCERT books.
Of course For clearing doubts and concepts you have to buy another book away from NCERT..
So on the basis my companion HC verma and ARIHANT books are very good to study to understand concepts easily..
OR you can go for FITJEE or AAKASH Notes they are difficult to read but seriously they are very helpful to you.

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study?

For preparation of IIT two things should always be kept in mind:
1. Its not the fact that how much you read.

2 Its actually what you read and how you read it.

Here are a few tips on how to start your preparation forIIT:

1. Try to give equal importance in all subjects.

2. As you are going for self study you will have to work a bit more harder than others. You should have someone to whom you can clear your doubts.

4. Revise what you have already learnt in regular intervals.

5. Try to solve as many problems as you can on paper rather than just reading its solution.

6 Books to refer

Physics: NCERT, H.C.Verma
Chemistry: NCERT, O P TANDON, PRADEEP OBJECTVE CHEMISTRY.
MATHS: NCERT, R.D.SHARMA, ARIHANT Series

7. Leave enough time in the end i.e. before IIT exams so as to revise properly all you have read. The time should be more than a month as the total syllabus is really huge when it comes to read it all at a time.

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study?

IN my opinion , you should prefer good coaching classes for getting boost in IIT-JEE .

but it is your choice , you should have to consult good books, which help you in better preparation.you must first study from ncert books to clear your concept. after that i will suggest you to study from
tata mcgraw hills for maths
d c pandey for physics
arihant for chemistry
you must also for once try to solve all the previous years question papers to get the knowledge of pattern and difficulty level of the exam.
while solving the sample papers, never see the solution directly. first try to solve the questions by yourself two to three times. if then also you fail, then see the solution.
you must remember these tips to get good result.
good luck.

I think anyone can crack IIT -JEE by himself..
You have to know that CBSE is against Coaching centers.
And now CBSE think that they will change exam pattern every year because they want to fail the coaching centers..
You have to study regular and properly for cracking IIT-JEE or AIEEE.
Total paper of IIT-JEE, AIEEE and other exams are based on NCERT Books.

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study?

For clearing the IIT JEE paper you should work very hard because there is no short key to success and as far as concered about self study if you are really a hard worker and determined to your goal then you will definately succeed.

First thing you should keep in mind is that you have to clear this paper anyhow and at any cost because if you have confidence then only you can succeed in any competition.
Try to solve varieties of questions don't solve too many questions of single type as this will make you learn nothing.

In IIT Chemistry is a scoring subject so emphasis on this subject will help you very much. And Organic part is also scoring among physical and inorganic.Refer first NCERT for chemistry and then other books.
And for inorganic NCERT is sufficient.

But for your better performance i would suggest to go for a test series at last because this will help you very much and you will also able to know where you stand in class and it will also increase your speed and gave you a environment of original JEE paper .

Hi,

First you complete study NCERT books. Then go to refreshers like the one from Pradeep's or Arihant publication for physics and chemistry and RD sharma for maths. They are IIT based and have lots of problems to solve and practice.
Also practice previous year papers and if possible join a test series of a good institute like Brilliant tutorials or FIIT-JEE to analyse your performance.

IIT JEE exams are really hard to crack. As for the initial preparation be very familiar with the entire syllabus of IIT JEE. Students must also be well versed with the syllabus of 10+2 level. There are number of books available in the market that will help you through the process. Students should practice model question papers to be familiar with the exam and to increase their speed and maintain strict timing.
