Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study? In your case you don't need to be interested in coaching institutes. So here are the guidelines for you You need to start from the first day of class XI, So that you are able to complete each and every chapter in the syllabus You should pay as much attention as you can to the theories and concepts because the questions asked are conceptual and require smart thinking You should complete each and every chapter 'completely' and don't leave even the smallest section of any chapter You should try a nice amount of sums and numericals You should also practice various practice papers with a clock in front of you so that you are able to manage your time. You should not give excessive preference to a particular subject you should go for good study materials, according to me you should visit www.mtg.in for this purpose at the end you only need to pray to god best of luck!!! |

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study? Are you well confident that you can crack IIT-JEE just by preparing at home. Many students think that they can crack IIT-JEE and AIEEE just by self-study. But they didn't get selection. Very few students get selection in IIT-JEE by doing self-study. If you think, you can succeed, I would recommend you some books that would help you to prepare for IIT-JEE: PHYSICS FOR IIT JEE MECHANICS Physics by H.C. Verma Problems in physics by I.E. Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study? You have to know about IIT-JEE and AIEEE exam- Below are the some useful tips- Total paper of IIT-JEE, AIEEE and other exams are based on NCERT Books. None of question is not out of 11th and 12th standard Books. So firstly concentrate on CBSE issued NCERT books. Of course For clearing doubts and concepts you have to buy another book away from NCERT.. So on the basis my companion HC verma and ARIHANT books are very good to study to understand concepts easily.. OR you can go for FITJEE or AAKASH Notes they are difficult to read but seriously they are very helpful to you. |

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study? For preparation of IIT two things should always be kept in mind: 1. Its not the fact that how much you read. 2 Its actually what you read and how you read it. Here are a few tips on how to start your preparation forIIT: 1. Try to give equal importance in all subjects. 2. As you are going for self study you will have to work a bit more harder than others. You should have someone to whom you can clear your doubts. 4. Revise what you have already learnt in regular intervals. 5. Try to solve as many problems as you can on paper rather than just reading its solution. 6 Books to refer Physics: NCERT, H.C.Verma Chemistry: NCERT, O P TANDON, PRADEEP OBJECTVE CHEMISTRY. MATHS: NCERT, R.D.SHARMA, ARIHANT Series 7. Leave enough time in the end i.e. before IIT exams so as to revise properly all you have read. The time should be more than a month as the total syllabus is really huge when it comes to read it all at a time. All THE BEST |

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study? IN my opinion , you should prefer good coaching classes for getting boost in IIT-JEE . but it is your choice , you should have to consult good books, which help you in better preparation.you must first study from ncert books to clear your concept. after that i will suggest you to study from tata mcgraw hills for maths d c pandey for physics arihant for chemistry you must also for once try to solve all the previous years question papers to get the knowledge of pattern and difficulty level of the exam. while solving the sample papers, never see the solution directly. first try to solve the questions by yourself two to three times. if then also you fail, then see the solution. you must remember these tips to get good result. good luck. |

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE by self study? For clearing the IIT JEE paper you should work very hard because there is no short key to success and as far as concered about self study if you are really a hard worker and determined to your goal then you will definately succeed. First thing you should keep in mind is that you have to clear this paper anyhow and at any cost because if you have confidence then only you can succeed in any competition. Try to solve varieties of questions don't solve too many questions of single type as this will make you learn nothing. In IIT Chemistry is a scoring subject so emphasis on this subject will help you very much. And Organic part is also scoring among physical and inorganic.Refer first NCERT for chemistry and then other books. And for inorganic NCERT is sufficient. But for your better performance i would suggest to go for a test series at last because this will help you very much and you will also able to know where you stand in class and it will also increase your speed and gave you a environment of original JEE paper . ~ BEST OF LUCK ~ |

Students must also be well versed with the syllabus of 10+2 level. There are number of books available in the market that will help you through the process. Students should practice model question papers to be familiar with the exam and to increase their speed and maintain strict timing. |

Some useful strategies for cracking IIT JEE exam are: Have a strong hold of the fundamentals. Selection of right books & study materials. Refer NCERT books. Try to solve model papers based on latest exam pattern. Analyze result, find out your weak areas & try to overcome those weak areas. Regular practice is the only key to success in any exam. |
