Re: Which type of government job is better for Environmental Engineering student? Dear friends, I am a environmental engg with master degree in engg from vtu university and 6yr work exp in this sector. A word of advise to all who wish to peruse a career in this field, this field is not so easy and not a promising career option . career growth is very slow and the pay is also low..working environment and culture is harsh.. often involves extensive travel..govt jobs are very limited and one has to compete with civil and chemical engg as they are also allowed to apply for env engg govt jobs...IFS is tough to crack as there is no env engg subject option for the exam...the same goes for GATE exams and other civil service exams... so think before opting this field as a career option. |
