Hai friend,

Limit of Number of Attempts in the IES Exams:

In general category a student can attempt four times for the exams.

Candidates belongs to OBC can attempt for seven times.

Candidates belongs to SC/ST can attempt for nine times

'IES Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications :

Degree in :
Electrical Engineering
Electronics & Communications Engineering
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
or equivalent degree from recognized universities.

M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also acceptable for certain posts.
Students of final year Engineering or equivalent degree are also eligible.

Important Instruction Related to attempts
General Category student can attempt 4 times
OBC category student attempts 7 times
SC/ST no limit for attempts


Age Limits :

Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on August 1st on year of conduct of examination ( upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs,OBCs and certain others )

How to Apply :

UPSC applications are available for Rs. 20/- at notified post offices all over the country. Rs. 100/- (rupees one hundred only) through central Recruitment Fee Stamp only shall be attached. There is a fee exemption for SC/ST/Female/PH candidates. Please mark exam code as ENGG and not as IES. IES means Indian Economic service. Be careful in this aspect.

Hai,

IES(Indian Engineering Service) exam is conducted by the UPSC-Union Public Service Commission, this exam is conducted once in a year.


Eligibility criteria:-

The candidate should must be passed engineering graduation in any of the below stream from a recognised university.

Electronics engineering,

Civil engineering,

Mechanical engineering,

Electronics and communication engineering.

Final year appearing candidates may also eligible for this exam.

Percentage is no need to apply this exam.

You must be a citizen of india.

Age criteria:-
The age limits for General candidates is 21 years to 30 years,

OBC candidates 21 years to 33 years,

SC/ST Candidates 21 years to 35 years.


No.of attempts:-

For General category:- 4 times,

For OBC category:- 7 times,

For SC/ST category:- No limit.


Selection process:-
Civil services preliminary exam,

Civil services main exam,

Personal interview.

Dear Friend ,

The number of attempts that you can go for IES exam being an OBC candidate is 7 .

IES exam Eligibility Criteria :

* You must have completed your engineering in any of the following streams :

a) Civil Engineering

b) Mechanical Engineering

c) Electronics & Electrical Engineering

d) Electronics & Communication Engineering

* You must maintain your age between 21-30 years.

IES-INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE, exam conducted by UPSC every year for recruitment of engineers in the top technical post in the following branch of Engineering under Central Govt.:-

MECHANICAL
ELECTRICAL
CIVIL
ELECTRONIC AND TELECOMMUNICATION

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years which the upper age relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST candidate and up to 3 years for OBC candidate, can apply for IES.

Regarding number of attempt to IES exam:-

For General candidate -four attempts

OBC candidate-Seven attempts

SC/ST candidate- no limitation to number of attempts.
