hi...!!!

-->the importance of rank is that if you apply from any state in any college or university the first preference would be given to the candidates having the highest all india ranking in AIEEE.

-->Second preference is given to the candidates who have the best state ranking.let you are a resident of west bengal and you have given your AIEEE entrance exam from west bengal.

-->when you seek admission in any college/university in west bengal, the candidates with better state ranking would get teh preference over candidates who ahve cleared WBJEE.

-->Hence,if your state rank is better in AIEEE,you stand a good chance to get admission in best reputated university.

all the best...go ahead!!!

Exams like GUJCET or AIEEE, are not compulsory for taking admission in undergraduate engineering institutes.

They just provide a range of good affilated colleges that provide engineering courses.
they have good placements too.

you may get direct enrolled in any institution through your performa in +2 exams

Basically there are 3 way to enter

through AIEEE
State level entrance exam
or Individual colleges or institute exams.

It is not necessary to appear in the AIEEE or GUJCET entrance exams for seat in a Engineering college. There are basically two ways to get admission in a engineering college.

The first way is by appearing in the entrance exam. Now there are several entrance exams where you can appear some examples are:

AIEEE

IIT-JEE

UPSEE

Each exam has its own eligibility criteria for students. Each student should meet the criteria to appear in the entrance exam of his choice.

For example the eligibility criteria for Indian Institute of Technology/Joint Entrance Exam is:

10+2 from a recognised board with PCM as the subjects.

Must secure 60 percent marks in the 12th board.

The requirement for Other Backward Class candidates is also 60 per cent.

While for SC/ST candidates, the minimum percentage requirement is 55 per cent.

You can attempt to clear the IIT-JEE exam twice in consecutive years.

For most students IIT-JEE is the first choice, however those who are not eligible for fails to make the cut, would prefer to appear in the AIEEE.

All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) is also engineering entrance exam which is conducted by CBSE. The requirement for AIEEE are:

10+2 with PCM

50 percent marks in 12th board

SC/ST/OBC/PH category candidate should secure 40 percent marks.

Depending on your rank in the AIEEE exam or other engineering entrace exam, you would get the admission in the college. This is what most students do to get admission however there is another way for those who do no wish to appear in the entrance exam.

Each college reserve some seats under the management quota. These seats are given either on the performance of the student in 12th board or his bank balance.

What I mean is that if you did exceptionally well in the 12th board, like 96 per cent marks then there are colleges who would give you direct admission for the Engineering course through management quota without any extra charges. But you should have passed 12th with Science stream and must perform extremely well in the 12th boards.

The other way which is used by several candidates who either perform badly in 12th and entrance exams or could not find the college of their choice through the exams. In this process, college would ask you to give huge donation, the amount differs from college to college, in exchange of the admission in college. Only if you can pay 5 to 10 Lakh, there is a chance to get admission without entrance exam. Now the choice is yours.
