Re: Which are the important subjects to prepare for M.Tech in CSE stream?

To do M.Tech in CSE stream you must first have a bachelors degree in computer science or IT.
You must give the entrance exam i.e GATE in your 4th year of engineering or maybe even after that.
This exam decides which college you get into for your M.Tech.

The important topics from your Bachelor's degree that will help you in your M.Tech entrance are:
Computer Networks
Databases
Programming and Data Structures
Operating System
Also you must not neglect the fact that GATE entrance exam doesn't only contain of questions pertaining to CS field but it also consists of Maths and Logical Reasoning.

Re: Which are the important subjects to prepare for M.Tech in CSE stream?

If you want to study M.Tech in CSE branch then you must pass B.Tech with CSE or IT. Now to take admission in M.Tech there are different ways. But best way is through GATE score. If you have good GATE score then you can choose your institution from so many colleges. But you may take admission in self finance or company reference or there are some university those conduct their own entrance examination to take admission in M.Tech you may appear in that type of entrance examination to take admission in M.Tech.

If you want to crack GATE examination then you must prepare very well. You should appear in GATE examination from computer science engineering branch. In this GATE syllabus all subjects which are related to computer science are included. Beside the technical computer science question there are some mathematics and aptitude question also in GATE examination. So you must be prepared not only for the technical subject but also for mathematics and aptitude.

For your reference I am attaching the syllabus of GATE examination as attachment. Go through the syllabus mathematics part syllabus is also included in the syllabus.

If you are looking for some important subject and you will avoid other subject from the syllabus then I think it's will not be better. You should go through all the subject. May be some paper is difficult for you. For that give more time to that subject so that you can become well prepared. Still if you feel that you can not answer question from that subject may be there will be some easy question and you will solve that. Don't avoid a subject totally. Prepared at least few chapters of the subject in which you are confident.

Still if you want to know some good subjects from question most of the questions come then these are-
Programming and Data Structures
Operating System
Databases
Computer Networks
Information Systems and Software Engineering

If you want to take admission in M.Tech through entrance examination conducted by a particular university or institution then also syllabus is almost same. If you can be prepared for GATE examination then with that preparation you will be able to clear other entrance examination for M.Tech also.

Best of luck.
