Re: KAS exam after 12th standard?

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
1)A candidate should have a degree of graduation in any field from any recognized university.
2)A candidate in his final year is also eligible for the civil services exam. (IPS, IFS, IAS)
3)A candidate's age must be between 21 to 30 years. 3 and 5 years of relaxation for OBC and SC/ST respectively.

To crack the exam, the preparation requires the right approach along with the right study materials and strategy. The preparation requires focused study rather than plain hard work.

You can read guide books like General Studies Manual, Indian Politics by Lakshmikanth, Ancient History by D.D.Kausambi’s, R.S.Agarwal [Arithmetic], Wren & Martin [English Grammar], Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation by Arun Sharma, etc.

You may even study journals and even watch television for important news reports. Reading English newspapers will also help the students to get a good hold on the English language. Always keep the syllabus and past five years question papers.

For preparation, I am sending you links of institutes offering coaching in and around your desired area. Please go through it.

As for the subjects, there is a big list of optional subjects to choose from. You may choose according to your personal interest and attributes. I would suggest you to opt for a particular subject in which you are comfortable and find scoring as it will help you to crack the exam.

I would suggest you to visit the official website for detailed help regarding forms, syllabus, exam dates, optional subjects, etc.

The strategy for success must include: early, continuous, and serious preparation, starting right now.
