SBI Clerk Exam Eligibility Criteria:
  • State Bank of India is one of the leading public sector banks in India. It is one of the oldest too. It has its branches both in India and overseas. Therefore the craze to sit for its exams whenever they publish a notification is also sky-high.
  • To sit for the SBI Clerk Exam you need to be a higher secondary passed out candidate or its equivalent with not less than 60% of marks in aggregate.
  • If you opted to do diploma courses after giving class 10 board exam even that will be considered provided it was a regular one and was done from a recognized institution. The duration of the course should not be less than two years and it should not be done in correspondence.
  • You can also complete your graduation and then apply. You can get a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Since the minimum percentage to obtain have not been mentioned therefore if you have the pass marks then you can apply.
  • Your age should not be less than 18 years as this is the minimum age limit for giving this exam. The upper age limit for giving this exam is 28 years for general category candidates.
  • Age relaxation is applicable for the reserved category candidates. For SC/ST candidates it is 5 years, for OBC candidates it is 3 years and for physically handicapped candidates it is 10 years.
  • The selection procedure basically includes a written examination which is followed by the personal interview session. On getting the pass marks in the written exam you will be called for the interview session depending on the vacancies available.
  • Questions for the written exam will be of XIIth standard and generally objective type questions will be asked. All in all there will be five papers to answer and you have to stress on the following sections: General Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Marketing Aptitude/ Computer Knowledge.
  • For every right answer you will get one mark and for every wrong answer there is negative marking. 0.25 marks will be deducted from your original score. You should answer very cautiously because idea of wild guessing can backfire you.
