Age limit is short for OBC and BC class for apply in DSP post.

Public Civil Service Examination
Age Limit :-- Any graduate who are within the age limit of 20-35 can apply for PCS.
- Those who are applying for Punjab Police Service, should at least 21 years old and not more than 28 years old.
- There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST category candidates.
- Those who are employed in Punjab Government for at least 4 years are eligible for the examination upto 45 years of age.
- Widow or devorces women get apply for the examination upto 40 years of age.
- Scheduled tribes and backward classes candidates who are applying for DSP post get 5 years of relaxation in maximum age limit.
- Those who are worked for armed force for 4 years without any break, their year of service is deducted for from their original age. Then if deducted satisfies age criteria, they can apply for PCS.
Examination pattern- This is taken in there stages a.Preliminary b. Main c. Interview. One can write Main examination only after cracking preliminary examination.
- Preliminary exam has two paper. One is compulsory general studies and another paper is one optional subject. Generally MCQ type question is asked and there is negative marking for wrong response.
- Main examination has papers of English, Essay, Punjabi, General Studies and optional subject.
- Note that successful candidates of Main examination and applicants of police service have to go through physical test.
