Re: What is the minimum qualification required to become an IAS officer Irrespective of the percentage of marks in 12th class, the candidate is not eligible to become IAS Officer as the minimum academic qualification that is required is Graduation. One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. No minimum percentage of marks are required for the candidates in Graduation. Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation are also eligible to give the Entrance Exam but they should be able to provide the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview. The selection procedure involves Civil Services Aptitude Test Civil Services Main Exam Interview Civil Services Exam is the common written exam for the candidates to be placed in all the civil services like IAS IPS IFS IRS etc. Required age criteria will be as follows 21-30 years of age for the candidates of General category. Relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category. Try to complete your Graduation and simultaneously prepare for this exam as well. Wish you all the best. |
