I am a student of BCA from NSOU YES, you are eligible to apply for the IPS post But first you have to complete your Graduation Also you have to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Exams UPSC Civil Services Exams are held in three stages: Prelims MAINS Interview Minimum eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil Services exams is: Education: Graduation pass in any stream from a recognized university No minimum percentage of marks is required in Graduation Age- Minimum 21 years Maximum 30 years OBC can apply till 33 years SC/ST can apply till 35 years Attempts/Chances: UPSC has also fixed number of attempts General- 4 times OBC-7 times SC/ST-No Restrictions |

Indian Police Service, Indian Administrative Service and Indian Forest Service these are the top three civil service examinations of our country. This exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. IPS stands for Indian Police Service. The prelims generally takes place in the first week of May and Mains in the second week of October. Whoever have been appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service and already working over there cannot apply for this exam. Eligibility Criteria:- ## You need to be a citizen of India. ## You need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university. Since it has not mentioned the percentage to attain therefore all you need is a graduate degree. ## Age Criteria:-

Minimum qualification required to appear for IPS exams is Graduation from a recognized university. IPS(Indian Police Service) exams are conducted by UPSC every year. Age Limit for IPS exam: General - 21 to 30 yrs OBC - 21 to 33 yrs SC/ST - 21 to 35 yrs Defence Personnal - 21 to 33 yrs Ex serviceman - 21 to 35 yrs Number of Attempts: Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit Number of Attempts: Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. Re: Am I eligible for IPS exam? I am a student of BCA from NSOU HELLO DEAR To become IPS officer, you have to write Civil service exam conducted by UPSC. To apply for this examination, you have to complete your Graduate degree course from a recognised board and your age should between 21 to 30 years, upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates. IPS is one of the All India Allied services provided, once you clear this exam. The post highly competitive among aspirants. Designations like DSP, SP , Commissioner are given to passouts after training for IPS. After selection, you will be trained for two in IPS academy in Hyderabad. The notification of CSE Examination is going to be published soon next year in the month of February and eligible candidates may fill the application form online only. No, offline application form facility is applicable for any candidates in this examination. The examination is conducted in 2 stages, preliminary and Mains, Firstly, you have to cracked the preliminary examination, this is objective and there are two papers in this examination. If you cracked this stage, then you are eligible for Mains. The main examination is Descriptive and you have to choose the optional subjects for Main examination. You have to prepared for this examination as per the pattern and syllabus, only then you will be able to cracked this examination, If you face any problem then you can join some good coaching classes. I am a student of BCA from NSOU hi..!!! -->yes,my dear friend you are eligible for IPS being a student of BCA from NSOU. -->but before try for it just check your eligibility according to that. -->eligibility criteria is given as follows:- -candidate must be indian. -age limit for general category 21-30 years. -age relaxation is there for SC/ST of 5 years and of 3 years for OBC. -For Ex-service men there is exception of 5 years from the prescribed limits. -candidate must be fit physically as well as emotionally. -->application procedure:- -offline -online -->for more details you can visit the following website:- www.upsc.gov.in all the best....go ahead and work hard!!! |

 Being a student of BCA from NSOU you are eligible for writing the IPS Exam to join in as a IPS officer only after completing BCA. As the education qualification needed for the IPS exam is that the candidate must have completed a degree in any discipline from a recognized university. There are other criteira's which are needed to be satisfied in order to apply for the IPS exam. And to tell about the IPS Exam it is one of the Indian Civil Service exam and is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) and is held every year.
