The abbreviation of IPS is Indian Police Service.



Union Public Service Commission organizes civil services examination for those opponents who wish to become an IAS, IPS, IFS, and IRS officers.

To be an Indian Police Officer, opponents will have to crack civil services examination.

The educational qualifications regarding with Indian Police Service exam are below mentioned:-

# Opponents must have finished their bachelor degree in any curriculum from any approved institution.

This Exam is being conducted by UPSC
(Union Public Service Commission) once in a year.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR IPS EXAM:-

The candidate must be a citizen of India.
The candidate must have a a age limit of 21-30 years.
For SC/ST - 35 years.
For OBC - 33 years.
For Ex-service men it is 5 years from the prescribed limits.
The candidate must have a degree from a recognized university.

Attempts:

For OPEN-4, OBC-7,SC/ST-NO LIMIT.

The complete selection procedure for this is by
-CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
-Civil Services Main Examination
-Interview

Here is the required eligibility criteria to appear for civil services exam.

Academic Qualification :
-You should have completed Graduation with any of the steam from a recognized university.
-Even the candidates who are pursuing final year of
Graduation are also eligible to give this exam but they
should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation
when they appear for Interview.

Age limit :
-A candidate of General category should be in the age group
of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam.

To give this examination minimum eligibility requirred is given below:-

Educationl qualifcation:-

You have to pass graduation from any recognise univercity.Final year student are also eligiable for IPS.

Age:-

Minimum age requirred 21 years and maximum age for IPS is 30 years.Upper age relixion for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

There are three stages in Civil Service exam:-

*Priliminary

*Mains examination

*Personal Interview.

So, as you have passed graduation of BCA you are eligiable for IPS and there are no parcentage criteria.Only graduation requirred.

For you to become an IPS officer, you need to appear for the Civil Services exam conducted by UPSC.

The exam is of three rounds and all are elimination rounds:
1. Civil Services Preliminary Exam
2. Civil Services Main Exam
3. Interview

First of all you need to check whether you are eligible for the exam or not.
The eligibility for Civil Services Preliminary Exam is as follows:
1. You need to be an Indian citizen
2. You need to be graduate from a recognized university
3. Your age needs to be between 21 to 30 years
4. If you belong to the OBC category then age is relaxed by 3 years
5. If you belong to the SC/ST category then age is relaxed by 5 years
6. IF you are in the final year of your graduation then also you are eligible to appear for the exam.

IPS - Indian Police Service, to become an IPS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC once every year. There is no percentage of marks required for application to Civil Service Exam, only a pass in Graduation is sufficient.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness.

Apart from this the aspiring candidate for IPS should maintain a minimum Physical requirement such as:-

HEIGHT:-

General Male-165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm.

CHEST:-

Male-85cm while Female-79cm. expandable to 5cm in both the cases.

The Civil Service Exam can be applied through both off line and on line.

Through off line mode the Application form can be obtained from General Post Offices and through on line mode it can be obtained through official web site of UPSC i.e. http://www.upsconline.com

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam

-Civil Service Main Exam

-Personal Interview

*you must be indian citizen

*the age limit for theses civil services exams are 21-30 years,.

21-35 years for SC\ST candidates.

*the number of attempts in IPS is -

-Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
-Age limit:21-30yrs.

The exam is conducted in three stages i.e Preliminary,Main and Interview.You need to pass all the three stages.The number of attempts is 4 for open,7 for OBC and no limit for SC/ST.
