The duration of the course is two years. The candidates for this course must be Indian citizens. Also, you must have achieved a minimum of 50% in your graduation. In 10+2 level, you should have undertaken the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Some of the food technology colleges and universities in India are University of Calcutta, Delhi School of Home Economics, Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Tamil Nadu GD Naidu Agricultural University, and so on.

Certainly you are eligible to apply for the M.Sc course in universities like Amity, GNDU etc. Some institutes like CFTRI do insist that the candidates should have studied Maths in 12th standard. Admission is mostly based on entrance exam conducted by the university or the institute. It will be a subject based test. There will be questions from areas like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Dairy technology, Biochemistry, Microbiology. There will be equal distribution of questions from all these areas so that candidates from various background will have questions from their area of specialisation.
