I have a Bachelor degree in Biochemistry, what course do I need to choose (my subject graduation) while filling the examination form, because there's nowhere mentioned the term Biochemistry in the UPSC CSE form, I had botany as one subject in my first year and chemistry as one subject in the second year . Please anybody help me on this.

Yes you can definitely apply for the IAS Civil Services Exam after Completing your Graduation in Biochemistry.

This is because the educational qualification that you should have in order to be eligible to appear in the Civil Services IAS Exam is :

* You must have completed your graduation in any discipline from any recognized college/university.

* Final Year Candidates Can also apply for the Civil Services Exam.

The Examination is conducted in three phases :

a) Preliminary Exam

b) MAINS Exam

C) Interview Test

Yes definitely any graduate can apply for IAS examination.

So don't worry if you are a biochemistry graduate . You will be eligible for IAS exam after completion of your degree course.

Just make sure that your age is in accordance with the IAS norms means your age must be 21 to 30 years if you are a general category .

There is age relaxation available for 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC.

There is limit in number of attempts for general and OBC which is 4 and 7 respectively.

There is no limit for SC/ST category.

The exam will have of three stages:

-CSAT ( Civil Services Aptitude Test)

-IAS Mains

-Interview

The merit is based on marks obtained in Mains and interview. CSAT is just qualfying in nature and only those who qualify CSAT will be allowed to give mains exam.

if you are appearing your final year exam then you can apply for this exam.

Eligibility criteria

There are minimum educational qualification is Graduate any stream from any recognized university.
final year candidate are also eligible for this exam

Age should be minimum 21 and maximum 30 years

Age relaxation for OBC 3 year and SC/ST 5 years.

Attempts

For General 4
For OBC 7
For SC/ST No Limit
• notification 02/02/2013,
• last date of submission: 04/03/2013
• Date of prelim exam. 19/05/2013

IAS(Indian Administrative Service) exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) only one time in a year.

Eligibility criteria:-

-->You should be complete graduation or an bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

-->The candidate must be a citizen of india.

-->Final year persuing candidates can also be eligible for this exam.

-->There is no required percentage to appear this exam.

Age criteria:-

For General candidates--> 21 years to 30years,

For OBC candidates--> 21 years to 33years,

For SC/ST candidates--> 21 years to 35 years.

For PH OBC candidates--> 21 years to 40years.

Number of Attempts:-

4 times for general candidates,

7 times OBC candidates,

No limit for SC/ST candidates.

first of all you must crack the Civil Examination this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission in yearly ones

for this Civil Examination some eligibility criteria are there

candidates must have a bachelor of degree in any stream from any recognized university, there is no percentage required for this examination, final year appeared students also eligible for this examination

Candidates age should between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates, 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates, 3 years relaxation for OBC candidates, 10 years relaxation for PHC candidates

Eligibility For IAS


The recruitment for the Indian Administrative Services is done through Civil Services Exam which is conducted every year by UPSC..

The candidates appearing for Civil Services Exam must satisfy the following conditions :-

>> The candidate must have completed his graduation in any stream from a recognized institution..

>> The candidate must be within the age limit of 21-30 years for genera, 21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for SC/ST..

>> The number of attempts for the different categories is as follows :-
