Re: Qualifications required to become an IPS officer? Dear friend for apply IPS exam the minimum Education qualification is Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University. IPS stands for Indian Police Service. IPS exam is conducted by UPSC under Civil Services exam in every year. Eligibility criteria:- Candidate should be an Indian citizen. Candidate should be completed Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University. Age should be between 21 years to 30 years for General category candidates. Age relaxation for OBC category candidates 3 years And SC/ST category candidates 5 years. Number of Attempts:- General category candidates - 4 time OBC category Candidates - 7 time SC/ST category candidates - No limit. Selection procedure :- - Preliminary entrance exam - Main entrance exam - Interview Physical requirement :- Height: – Male 165 cm Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Female 150 cm Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest :– Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. Eye sight :- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127. Ear:- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment should not be more than 30 decibels. Best of luck........ |

IPS stands for the Indian Police services.It is the most valuable services which comes under civil services of Indian government.Union Public service commission held every year the Civil services examinations for the different services like : 1.Indian administrative services 2.Indian Police services 3.Indian Foreign services. It consists of three stages which are : >>Preliminary test or civil services aptitude test. >>Main examination >>Personal interview For becoming an IPS officer you will have to clear the Civil services examinations .For this you need to appear for the examination and for appearing you need to satisfy the following requirements that is eligibility criteria : >>Bachelor's degree in any desired discipline from a recognized university .Final year graduation candidates can also apply for the exam. >>The age limit for the exam is as below: General :21-30 years OBC:21-33 years SC/ST:21-35 years. >>You must be an Indian citizen. No of attempts : General :4 OBC:7 SC/ST:no limit. After satisfying all this ,you need to apply for the exam at www.upsconline.nic.in .The important dates are generally out in the month of February of every year. Eligibility for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination: The minimum age for appearing for the Civil Service Preliminary examination is 21 years and the upper age limit is 30 years. The minimum qualification is graduation in any discipline from a recognised Indian University or an equivalent qualification. There is a relaxation for SC/ST candidates on the number of attempts, if they are otherwise eligible. For entry to Civil Services, there is a multi-step examination process. The entire selection process takes the entire calendar year. |

Re: Qualifications required to become an IPS officer? You need to have a degree to apply for IPS officer post. This degree can be taken in any subject area for this post. Lower age limit for this post is 21 years. 30 years is the higher age limit for the same. It is necessary to appear for UPSC Civil services exam to ensure selection for this post. Attend and qualify both preliminary exam and main exam so as to take up further selection procedures. Physical test is compulsory for this post. Personal interview is the final selection process. |
