Hi...friend
to become a police officer first of all you need to complete your
graduation in any stream from any university
the police recruitment process is not done every time
that is depending on the number of vacancies is to be left
to become a police officer improve your inter skills and general knowledge
the questions asked from arithmetic reasoning and quantitative aptitude
and also English and general awareness
finally Indian politics ,history and economics very important
physical fitness also very important
any way good luck..

Its good to see that you wish to become an IPS officer. To do so you will have to appear in the Civil Service Exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). It is one of the most competitive exams in India. Each year more than 300,000 aspirants sit in the exam but only few hundred manages to pass it. However before you could appear in the UPSC exam you will have to qualify CSAT exam.

There are several requirements to appear in the Civil Service Exam that are not just limited to Physical requirements. These requirements are mentioned below:

1. Candidate must be Indian Citizen

Age:

To be eligible you must be between 21 to 30 years old as for the August 1 of the year you decide to appear in the exam.

The upper age limit has 3 years relaxation for the OBC candidates.

SC/ST gets 5 years relaxation on the upper age limit.

Five more years of relaxation is give to Ex-Servicemen

Education Requirement:

Candidate should have Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised college in India. Candidates who are in final year of degree course are also welcomed to appear in the exam.

Physical Requirements for IPS

Physical requirements are the most important part because unless you meet these criteria there is no point of going forward.

Height:

Male: 165 cm

In case you are from SC/ST and OBC then 160 cm

Female: 15 cm

145 cm for women from SC/ST and OBC category

Chest:

Male:

Male candidates should have the chest of 84 cm and they should be able to expand it by 5 cm

Female:

Women candidates should have chest of 79cm and they also should be able to expand it by 5 cm.

Eye sight:

6/12 or 6/9 distant vision for worse eye

6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye

Near vision should be J1 for good eye and J2 for the bad eye.
