Re: Is correspondence B.Tech equivalent to regular B.Tech

Hello,
Well people have a thought that correspondence courses are not good. But that is not true. They are equally good as that of the regular courses. The course curriculum is same as that of the regular courses. Also the fees mostly are less than regular courses. Normally after B.Tech you go for IT jobs, be it in hardware or software. There in the corporate sectors you do not get discriminated by distance education or regular education. So if you wish to go for correspondence then straightway go for it. Only thing is that the correspondence B.Tech course must be from an affiliated university under UGC or AICTE. If it is not affiliated under a well known organization, then only your B.Tech degree will be valid. So take care in this regard and rest will be just fine.

Re: Is correspondence B.Tech equivalent to regular B.Tech

Hi Guest,

The correspondence B.Tech and regular B.Tech is completely different as few of the government companies ask for a regular B.Tech to apply for the jobs in it.

In case of correspondence B.Tech you will attend the classes only in few occasions and by doing so you will be skipping the most of the classes so you will be not having technical knowledge compared to a student who will be attending the classes regularly.

So, there is lot of difference between the B.Tech’s in regular and correspondence.

Thank you,

All the best.

Hi

As you may know that B.Tech stands for the Bachelors in technology. Its basically a graduation course which many students can take up after completion of their Class 12th boards or higher secondary exams. To be frank, I would say today its the most desired course in the market and hence gained a HUGE craze among the students.

If a student has to take up B.Tech then there are these tough entrances to crack before that like IIT JEE, AIEEE, DCE CEE, WB JEE, BITSAT, etc and many more.. If you score a high rank in these then only you would get a good and reputed college in India.

Coming to your query, I would first define what is a regular course and what is a correspondence course. A regular B.Tech degree is a full time course which is of 4 years duration and would consists of regular classes daily. For 8 semesters you would have to study different subjects related to this course and clear each paper respectively. If you are unable to do so, you would be getting backlogs which in any case you would have to clear later on to get your degree.

On the other hand if you talk about the distance B.Tech course, I would say its not a full time instead a part time course that you are talking about. Your touch with the subjects would not be regular, you would study as you please and so the value and importance of that course cannot be realized. Always remember that when you go to work for a company or sit for the placements then they would always ask for a REGULAR GRADUATION DEGREE. Nobody gives any importance to a distance learning degree or correspondence course.

I would suggest that you sit for the Entrances and try your best to clear ANY because ANY would be better than distance learning. If unable, then try for the private colleges if budget is not a problem.

Hope this helps

All the best

RANJEET

Hi, B.tech in regular mode is always better than that from the correspondance mode.

I would suggest you to appear for engineering entrance exams like AIEEE, IIT JEE and state CETs and target a high rank for getting admission into a college of repute. The syllabus for this exam is the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics syllabus of your 12th class.

However, if you have some constraints and could not join regular regular B.tech then you may look at IGNOU and Manipal University for distance programme.

Yes it is true that Corresponded B.tech degree will treated as equivalent to Regular B.TECH course.

The eligibility you will require for appearing in NET exam is as follows:-

>>Your degree should be approved from the DEC(Distance education council).
>>Your minimum marks in MCA should be 55% without Rounding.
>>If you belong from the SC/ST/PWD(Person with disability) then your minimum marks should be 50%.

Age details:-

>>If your applying for the junior Fellowship then your age should not be above 28 years.

>>If you are applying for the Lectureship then there is no age limit.
