Re: What is the percentage needed to do Law?

Since you have completed 12th, you are eligible for the integrated law course. The integrated law course has the duration of 5 years. Some of the courses are BA LLB, B.com LLB etc.

The integrated law course has same value as the LLB course. The only difference here is that integrated course includes subject of bachelor course. By doing so, candidates no longer are required to first apply for the bachelor course and then LLB.

Earlier the process of completing Law was that candiadates had to first complete a graduation course followed by 3 years long LLB. Now instead of that, you can take integrated law course and save one year.

The integrated law course is only offered through regular mode. It has been prohibited by the Bar Council of India to offer LLB or integrated LLB through correspondence. Any law degree which is not offered through regular mode is not recognized by Bar Council of India. Thus barring candidates from practicing in the court as lawyer.

Eligibility

1. You must have completed 12th from a recognized board.

2. At least 50 percent marks in 12th.

3. SC/ST candidates need 45 percent marks.

4. Candidates must have completed 12th to appear for CLAT entrance exam.

5. The age limit for BA LLB is 20 years.

6. There is 2 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

HSC passed candidates can apply for 5 year integrated law program. Graduates can apply for 3 year LLB. Admission to both the courses is done via entrance exams like CLAT. Candidates with at least 50% marks in 12th can apply for CLAT exam. Detailed information can be collected from CLAT prospectus.
