Re: Scope of LLB in corporate sector? Respected sir, I have completed my graduation in Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) now its known as BBA specialisation in HR. After that working as a HR Recruiter since 2 years to still and along with doing MBA in HR- Distance Education. Now into the 3rd sem of MBA HR. Apart from this doing LLB also now in 2nd sem. I wanted to do mine career in which I can use Law as well as HR knowledge. Is there any openings or possibilities for HR LLB person with the experience in HR.. Please kindly do revert on my question. I am waiting.... Thank you. |

There is very good carreer in the law so you need not have to worry for that.......... Most law colleges today admit students for the 5 year course on the basis of an entrance exam. Some colleges like GLC Mumbai and ILS Pune admit students directly based on their performance in the qualifying exams (10+2 or its equivalent). So you may or may not have to give the exam for the admission in the LAW colleges. good luck |

Re: Scope of LLB in corporate sector? Hi, Corporate world has enough opportunities for the LLB graduates. Days are gone when advocates were known as 'Lords of black coat'. Corporate sector, in India, is paying good salary and lot of other facilities than many litigating lawyers do. Some of the highly paid corporate legal positions are, Corporate in house counsel; Legal manager; Legal associates etc. If you have BCom Degree with you, you can be a finance/tax consultant with legal knowledge. I think you can go ahead with your decision. |

Re: Scope of LLB in corporate sector? dear ajay, there are many scopes in law in present time...u may join the corporrate sector as a legel adivsor after law graduation...u may also join the indian defence in the same way...u may also work in NGOs...u aslo select the teaching line after LL.M. or net or phd...and as a lawyer u may shape ur career...and can also fight the pcs j exam for the judiciory...u may also go in civil services....gud luck |

Re: Scope of LLB in corporate sector? Usually a management career after an MBA will not directly use your knowledge in Law. The general objective approach to problem analysis and the rigour in research will help you do well in Finance as well as Marketing careers. Some Industrial Relations and Human Resource jobs with manufacturing or other industries employing large numbers require you to deal with employment laws and your knowledge in Law will be useful there. Corporate law knowledge along with MBA is useful in legal firms as many corporate organizations hire legal firms. In general, though, if you wish to do an MBA, it is always a good option and will open up many job avenues for you. Admission for a Law student with a good academic record should also be relatively easy since you have proved your worth in an academic course. Law, too, is a career with growing prospects. Corporate and Commercial law, along with the Laws of mediation and negotiation, International law, Intellectual Property Rights, are important thrust areas. We can guide you better with details on your core strengths and reasons for wanting to do an MBA. |

Major applications studying law in corporate sector includes - Becoming a lawyer (private practice & consulting service) - Work with legal consultancy firms dealing with tax, excise, patent, labour and environmental laws. - Work as legal counsel & legal advisors for private firms & organisations - Law Reporters in Media Industry - Work at Non-profit organisations like NGOs & International agencies like UNO, ILO. But, to get a good position in any of the firms, you need to have good experience & expertise in solving legal matters in an efficient way.
