Re: which is better structures or constuction management? Quote:
your thought o doing this course after two years of experience is an very good thought because of the following reasons : 1.the things thought in the construction management course are the things which you would have already seen in the site and hence you are going to understand the things very well. 2.also the companies will really pay you more and also give you better job than an fresher who is doing the construction management course because you having the experiences will be an better position to use the concepts learned during the construction management course 3.also because of the experience which you would have gained on site you will perform really well in the course and hence increasing your chance of getting in to the best companies , 4.because you will already be having experience of the sites and also an construction management degree then you can easily go into the consultancy companies and need not work on site ,i am telling this because in the construction industry its not considered an good option to directly go for an consultancy job without working on the site |

Re: which is better structures or constuction management? Quote:
if you are asking about the usefulness of both the degrees then let me tell you one thing that both are equivalent i nature but the regular m.tech course is definitely better than the correspondence course in the sense of learning the things and knowledge you gain, construction management is an subject were you learn more and more from experience and also others experience, if you are doing it as an regular course then you can share and learn about others experiences but you would not get that opportunity if you are doing it as an part time course also you will really learn more from direct interaction to teachers than any other kind of interaction also the companies give more preference to the regular students than the part time candidates |

Re: which is better structures or constuction management? Dear Friend I think both fields are best in different point of views by the different people.but more peoples prefer constuction management because more colleges are offering correspondence study of constuction management and they more college are not offering correspondence study of structures management. so this is the main reason for this difference. Thanks |

Re: which is better structures or constuction management? structures management and construction management both are good. but you have to choose your subject according to your own interest after understanding the courses. Structures management is the study of management which deals with the management of the company structure. like there may be CEO, GM, DGM etc post in one company and also so many other post and labor post, clerk post, peon post etc are available. now if you are from structures management then you have to deal how the structure of the company will be. that is who will be the superior and who will successor of whom. construction management deals with the construction of any organization. like how the organization will deals, what will be the function of the organization, how the company will manage all the things etc. i think construction management is more vast then the structures management although the both are good enough. choose the best suitable one for you according to your interest. best wishes. |

Re: which is better structures or constuction management? hi! There is no such course named structure management. I think you are talking about structural engineering. Structural engineering is a field of engineering dealing with the analysis and design of structures that support or resist loads. Construction management: To manage the growing infrastructure projects successfully, the country needs many efficient construction/project managers well-versed in multidisciplinary project management practices But there are only few institutes in the country that offer courses in construction/project management. Construction/Project managers have limitless employment opportunities both in public and private sector infrastructure development companies. |

Re: which is better structures or constuction management? dear friend, as per my view, the constuction managements is much better than structures management because Construction Management is the overall planning, co-ordination and control of a project from inception to completion aimed at meeting a client’s requirements in order to produce a functionally and financially viable project that will be completed on time within authorised cost and to the required quality standards. |
