Deputy Commissioner of Direct Tax comes under IRS(Indian Revenue Service) and to become an IRS officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The candidate should have possessed good Physical Fitness. The selection is through three stages:- CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam -Civil Service Main Exam -Personal Interview For further information one may log on to http://www.upsc.gov.in |

Re: Procedure to become Deputy Commissioner of Direct Tax? To become a Deputy Commissioner of Direct Taxes, one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC every year. To become Deputy Comm. of Direct Taxes one has to apply for IRS(Indian Revenue Service) of Civil Service Exam. The eligible candidate aspiring for IRS, Civil service Exam, must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness. The selection is through two stages of written exam followed by Personal Interview. The eligible candidate applying for Civil Service exam is called for a Preliminary exam also called as CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test) and the candidate selected from CSAT is called for a written Main Exam and the final selection is conducted through personal interview out of candidate selected from Main Exam.
