Re: What is the limitation of civil disobedience movement?

Dear There,

The limitation of civil disobedience movement was:

1) Diffrent communities had diffrent abstract idea about Swaraj
2) Dalits Participation in the movement were limited , particularly in the Maharashtra and Nagpur region.
3) After the decline of NOn-corperation-Khilafat movement, large communities of Muslims did not respond to the the call for united struggle of Congress
4) The Civil Disobedience movement started with an atmosphere of suspicion and distrust between communities.

Thanks.

Not all social groups were moved by the abstract concepts of Gandhiji. The untouchables or 'Dalits' found themselves alienated from the national movement.

1.For long time Congress ignored their demands so as not to offend the higher caste groups. Gandhiji tried to organised them. But several Dalit leaders like B.R. Ambedkar demanded separate electorates for the dalits. Even though the Poona Pact of 1932 gave them reserved seats but still they were the lagging behind ones.

2. Also several Muslims also found themselves alienated. The Congress was being regarded as a Hindu -dominated party which denied rights to the Muslims

Re: What is the limitation of civil disobedience movement?

The main limitation of the civil disobedience movement was the division of the thoughts and thinking about the swaraj by the different communities present in India.
All did not have a right and unique thoughts about the movement.

Every community was not participating, otherwise it could have been into a mass movement that India can ever see.

Re: What is the limitation of civil disobedience movement?

hi,
the biggest limitations of civil disobedience movement were-

1. improper cohesion in various communities.

2. lagging of untouchables.

3. distraction of Muslim leaders.

4. it was not possible for all classes to continue the movement for an elongated period as it stretched to more than expected time.

5. absence of proper motivation in rural areas.

best of luck.

Limitations of Civil Disobedience Movement

Civil Disobedience Movement was launched by Gandhiji in order to defy and disobey the laws made by the British government or the Civil Government at that time..

The main drawback of the movement was that all the sections of the society were not able to come together to give the movement, a proper outcome that Gandhiji might have thought..

The movement lacked proper unity..The Muslims were not actively participating in the movement after the failure of Non-Cooperation Movement..

The most significant reason for the failure was that the Dalits felt left out in the course of the movement and they were not given an equal treatment in the society which hugely affected the unity of the movement..

The movement was eventually called off and it was then that Gandhiji named the Dalits as Harijans meaning the people created by god himself..so that they start getting the respect they deserve..

all the best..

With Warm Regards
Nitz
