In general, the eligibility criteria for all nationalized banks are on similar lines they may differ at times. Considering the broad spectrum, the candidates with Indian citizenship are eligible. The candidates, who are subject of Nepal, Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came over to India prior to 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, are also eligible to apply for bank clerk exam, provided they possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the government of India in their favor. Apart from nationality, academic qualification, and age criteria are also considered. In general, the minimum age limit is fixed as 18 years while the maximum age limit is 28 years. Relaxation in upper age limit is there for candidates belonging to SC/ST, OBC, PwD category, and Ex- defence servicemen. The general minimum academic qualification is 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in aggregate or full time, two years diploma course after 10th with not less than 60% aggregate marks or degree in any discipline from a recognized University. Relaxation in minimum percentile is there for SC/ST, OBC, PwD, and Ex-servicemen candidates. The minimum percentile of marks varies from bank to bank. In addition, the candidates should be well-versed with English language. |
