NO, you cannot give the UGC Conducted NET exams now.
You are now in MA part 1.
MA part 1 students are not allowed to sit for the NET exams.

Below is the Eligibilty to sit in the UGC-NET exams:
Post Graduation pass with minimum 55% marks in Post Graduation for the General and OBC candidates
Minimum 50% marks for the SC/ST candidates
Final year Post Graduate students can also apply.

Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) - Maximum age to apply is 28 years
SC/ST/Women/OBC candidates gets 5 years age

So, Complete your MA with Minimum 55% marks and than apply for the UGC-NET exams

Re: Can I give NET SET exam after securing 65% in B.A last year?

Dear Friend,

NET Stands for National Eligibility Test.

SET Stands for State Eligibility Test.

Both the examinations are conducted for the posts of JRF and lectureship.

The NET examination is conducted twice every year by the University Grants Commission whereas SET is conducted by State Governments.

The Minimum educational qualification Required for NET is :

* Post Graduation in any discipline from any recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks.

And as per you , you have completed your graduation and currently pursuing M.A. in correspondence.

So , on this basis , you are not eligible for the NET examination.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

You can appear for National Eligibility Test only if you are in the final year of post graduation. Before that it is not possible for you to appear for National Eligibility Test. Another thing to remember is that you should be able to submit the post graduation degree in less than 2 years.

Failing to do so would result in disqualification. You also should be able to meet the percentage criteria. I will suggest that you should only appear for NET in the final year if you are certain to obtain 55 percent marks in post graduation. Otherwise avoid appearing for the National Eligibility Test till completion of the course.

Eligibility

1. Candidate should be Indian citizen.

2. Post graduation degree in any discipline.

3. You should complete post graduation from UGC recognized university.

4. Minimum percentage required to appear for exam is 55 percent.

5. SC/ST candidates need 50 percent marks.

6. You should select NET subject which is relevant to your PG course.

7. Final year students of post graduation are also eligible.

8. But they should be able to submit master degree within 2 years.

9. There is no limit on number of attempts.

Age Limit

1. Age limit for JRF is 28 years.

2. Up to 3 years relaxation for OBC.

3. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST.

4. If applying for college lectureship then there is no upper age limit.

Re: Can I give NET SET exam after securing 65% in B.A last year?

UGC NET is the examination that is conducted for Lecturership and JRF( Junior Research Fellowship).

Those who are Post Graduate or in final year of post graduation can apply for UGC NET .

So if you are in 1st year M.A then you are not eligible to apply for UGC NET.

One must be atleast in final year of Post Graduation to apply .

The age limit for JRF is 28 years . So if you want JRF then you have to clear UGC NET below 28 years of age.

The UGC NET paper will be based on your field of specialisation hence you must have a very good knowledge of your field.

The paper will be objective type in nature and you need to attain qualifying marks in UGC NET to get the scorecard.

Eligibility For NET/SET 2013

The National Eligibility Test(NET) is conducted by UGC(University Grants Commission) is conducted for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the months of June and December..

A candidate is eligible to appear for the NET if the candidate satisfies the following conditions :-

>> candidate must be within the age limit of 18-28 years if applying for JRF..no upper age limit for lectureship..

>> Candidates appearing for the exam must have completed their post graduation with an aggregate of 55%..without rounding off (50% for SC/ST)

You have only completed your graduation right now so unless you complete your post graduation..you are not eligible to appear for the NET Exam..

You can Click Here for more details on the exam..

all the best..

With Warm Regards
