Re: What is the eligibility criteria for NTPC? Hello These days NTPC recruits through the GATE score as well. A good GATE rank will ensure that you are called for interview. The basic criterion for freshers recruitment are: 1.Should be an Indian citizen 2.Age limit is 21-27 years 3.Should have a a B.E/B.Tech degree in electrical or mechanical or civil or electronics engineering. 4.Should have a minimum of 65% of aggregate marks in the engineering degree All the best I hope this answer will help you. |

Hi The eligibity for national thermal power corporation NTPC is that you should be of 21-27 years of age and you shold be a graduate in mechanical, electrical and electronics engineering with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in your engineering degree. The number of seats varies from branch to branch. The selection criteria is through GATE (graduate aptitude technical exam). A good GATE score card os required to be an engineer in NTPC. Gud luck |

It is one of the leading PSU's in power sector. the criterion followed by it for recruiting freshers is given below- >>you should be an Indian citizen >>your age should be between 21-27 years >>you should have a a B.E/B.Tech degree in electrical or mechanical or civil or electronics engineering. >>you need to have a minimum aggregate of 65% or equivalent score in engineering. NTPC - National Thermal Power Corporation. This is a PSU i.e Public Sector Undertaking company which generated Electricity for the country needs. It generates 28% of the total Electricity needs of our country. NTPC earlier used to conduct their own entrance exam for the recruitment. So they had their own Eligibility Criteria's. But you would be interested to know that from the year 2011, NTPC is recruiting through the GATE examination. If GATE is new for you, Please read along. GATE stands for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and it in an Entrance EXAM on All India Basis conducted by the IIT's every year for two purposes now :- M.Tech Admissions PSU Recruitment's So NTPC recruits on the basis of the GATE score. And indirectly the ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA of GATE is related to the Eligibility of the NTPC. There are a few Eligibility Criteria's which are as follows :- 1. You should be a minimum graduate/final year appearing in B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharmacy from a recognized university or college to take up or participate in the GATE. 2. This exam has no limits to age nor attempts. So you can take it up anytime. But the NTPC recruitment has an age limit of 25 years for the Executive Trainees and 2-3 years more for the Management Trainees. 3. You should be physically fit. If you wish to take up NTPC Job, then apply for the GATE Exam and score the maximum in that as only the toppers get chances and calls from the PSU's. You must have atleast 60 % marks in engineering graduation and must have a valid GATE scorecard to apply for this post. There is relaxation in percentage for SC/ST candidates for 5 %. means SC/ST require only 55 % marks in engineering to apply for this post. GATE exam is for engineering graduates and you have to qualify the GATE exam to apply for this post. Such candidates must have obtained the qualification from any recognized institution with 60% marks. Selection process is carried out on the basis of GATE score. Age of the candidate must be less than 30 years. For senior level positions experienced candidates are often preferred. |
