Re: Age-limit for IAS exam in general category? Unfortunately you can not apply for the Indian Administrative Service. I am afraid that you have crossed the age limit to appear for Civil Service Examination which means that you can neither apply for Indian Police Service or Indian Administrative Service. There is no relaxation in age limit for women candidates. The age limit for General candidate is 21 to 30 years. Since you are 31 years old, this is not going to be possible for you. As a matter of fact in most government jobs the age limit is 30 years for general candidates. IAS Eligibility 1. You should be citizen of India. 2. Bachelor degree in any stream. 3. Age limit is minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years. 4. There is upto 3 years relaxation for OBC. 5. SC and ST are eligible for 5 years relaxation. Since you are post graduate, may I suggest you college lectureship option. This is the only good option for you in the government sector. If you have obtained 55 percent marks in post graduation then you are eligible for the National Eligibility Test. The exam is conducted twice a year by University Grants Commission for college lectureship and PhD. You can consider appearing for this exam. NET Eligibility 1. Candidate should be Indian citizen of apply. 2. Post graduation degree from UGC recognized college. 3. At least 55 percent marks in PG. 4. SC and ST need 50 percent marks. 5. Final year students are also eligible. 6. The NET subject should be relevant to post graduation course. 7. Age limit is 28 years if applying for Junior Research Fellowship. 8. There is no age limit for lectureship. |
