Dear friend,

TET is for Teacher Eligibility Test. This exam is conducted by various state level colleges. Each state level board conducts its own entrance exam for the selection of candidates for the post of teachers in junior classes and secondary level classes.

All those candidates who have completed their Graduation in any stream from a recognized university are eligible to apply for TET exam. In order to apply for TET exam you should have completed your B.Ed degree.

For applying for TET exam you should have to score atleast 60% marks in Graduation. For applying for the post of teachers in government schools it is necessary that you must score atleast 60% marks in TET exam.

Exam pattern-

1. Paper I: those who want to become teachers for classes I-V.
2. Paper II: those who want to teach classes between VI and VIII.
3. Paper I and II: For those who are interested in teaching from Class I to VIII will have to appear and qualify in both the papers.

Syllabus for TET exam:

1. Child development and pedagogy
2. Language I
3. Mathematics
4. Environmental studies
5. Language II

i have completed my B.Sc Microbiology(microbiology, bio chemistry, chemistry) with 71%.
am i eligible for D.S.C through TET....? Lakshmi Sindhu, Guntur.

To appear in the Entrance Examination than you have to satisfy the below eligibility criteria ..

Applicant should be Citizen of Indian origin and the Applicant should be Complet graduation degree course in any discipline from a recognized university.

Note :- The Applicant should be Compulsory Completed B.Ed degree Course with good percentage of marks ..

Applicant need to score Minimum 50% Percentage of marks in B.Ed Course ..

There is no age limit to appear for the exam.

So, If you have Completed B.Ed Course , then definitely your eligible for TET Entrance Examination ..

TET Stands for Teacher Eligibility Test.

TET Exam is Generally Known As CTET(Central Teacher Eligibility Test).
CTET Exam is Conduct by CBSE Board in Instruction of NCTE.
NCTE Stands for National Council for Teacher Education.


TET Exam is Conduct for Measuring Skills of Every Candidate to Become Teacher. TET Exam is also conducted by State Govt.


Required Criteria for TET ::-

Educational Qualifications for Classes 1 -5 :
Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks or Diploma Appearing.


Educational Qualifications for Classes 6 - 8 :
Bachelor's Degree Passed and 2 years Diploma.


TET Application Form Cost -

For General / OBC candidates - Rs. 500/-
For SC/ST/ Differently abled candidates - Rs. 250/-


TET Exam Scheme :-

Questions in TET Exam is Multiple Choice Questions.
each carrying one mark. There will be no negative marking.

Language I
Language II
Mathematics
Environmental Studies

The Eligibility Criteria that is required for TET Exam are mentioned hither in steps for your sake of convenience :

a)You must hold a Bachelor`s degree in any discipline from any recognized university.

b) you must have secured a minimum of 50 % marks in graduation.

c) you must be an Indian Citizen.

d) There is no age bar for this exam.

Test .TET will be a compulsory and essential
requirement for securing a teaching job in all
types of schools.Every state conduct their own entrance exam .

Some of the state recruit the candidate through B.Ed degree .
So You must have a valid degree for B.Ed course.The certificate
can not be more than 7 years old.

There will be 2 papers with objective multiple choice questions.
Each paper will consist of 150 questions. These papers are
intended for different levels of teaching as described below.

There is no upper age limit to apply for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).

Paper I: For those want to become teachers for classes I-V.
Paper II: For those want to teach classes between VI and VIII.

Academic Requirements:
Graduate Teachers: BA/ B.Sc/ B.Com with 50% marks with B.T./ B.Ed. degree
Hindi Teacher: Pravin/ Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks and graduates degree or B.A with Hindi as one of the subject with 50% marks and B.T / B. Ed. degree
Classical Teacher (Sanskrit): Shastri with 50% marks and graduates degree or B.A with Sanskrit as one of the subjects with 50% marks and B.T/ B.Ed degree
Classical Teacher (Arabic, Urdu, Persian): MM with 50% marks and graduates degree or B.A with Arabic as one of the subjects with 50% marks and B.T./B.Ed.
Classical Teacher (Assamese, Manipuri): B.A with Honors/ Major in concerned subject with 50% marks and B.T. / B.Ed. degree.
Maximum Age limit is 38 years.

TET stands for Teacher Eligibility Test.
TET exam is conducted at state level by various state boards.
In order to appear in TET exam you should have to complete your graduation from a recognized university and you must have B.Ed degree.

There is no upper age limit for this exam. Also there is no limit for no. of attempts.
You have to score minimum 60 percent in the TET test to qualify for teaching jobs.

I HAVE COMPLETED TWO YEARS DIPLOMA IN TEACHER TRAINING D.T.ED. WITH 88% AND B.LITT IN TAMIL WITH 56% CAN I APPLY FOR B.ED.POST TET EXAM.I AM HAVING 86% IN TENTH STANDARD AND 92.5% IN HIGHER SECONDARY

  • B.El.Ed degree holders with at least 50% marks in senior secondary can also write Paper II.
  • Reserved category candidates get 5% concession in minimum marks required in all case.
