Re: How can I become DECK cadet? I got 56% marks in 12th  Yes you are eligible to apply for Deck Cadet post on Merchant Navy because you have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. You should have very good mental and physical health if you want to join as Deck Cadet. Eyesight must be 6/6 and you must not be Colour Blind . You have to undergo Pre Sea training before joining the Merchant Navy as Deck Cadet. You should be willing to face challenges if you want to join Merchant Navy and you must be very good at adapting to a certain situation. To join as a Marine Engineer you have to complete B.Sc Nautical Sciences or Marine Engineering course. For getting admission in above courses you have to give Engineering entrance examination and if you get a good rank then you will be eligible to apply for Post of Engineer in Merchant Navy. |

Age Not exceeding 28 years on the date of commencement of training. Medical Fitness Medically fit with eyesight 6/6, with or without external aids. Maximum power permitted (�) 2.5 No. color blindness |

(Those awaiting results may also apply). Date of Birth: on or after 1st January 1986. Qualified in the Indian Maritime University (IMU) CET. Medically fit as per standards laid down by D.G. Shipping.
