Qualification required is that you should have completed your graduation from a recognized university or college with minimum 60% of marks. IPS stands for Indian Police Services. No of chances to appear in the exam is:- 4 chances for GENERAL candidates. 7 chances for OBC candidates. No Limit for SC/ST. Exam is conducted in 3 phases:- Preliminary Exam Mains Exam Personal Interview Minimum age limit is 21 years. Maximum age limit is 30 years. The post associated with the exam is some of the most reputed post in the Police department of India. The exam is conducted in 4 stages which are as follows :- 1. IPS Preliminary exam 2. IPS Mains exam 3. IPS Interview 4. IPS Physical exam The eligibility criteria of the exam is as follows :- Education : A degree from a recognized university Percentage :- There is No minimum percentage criteria Age limit :- 21-30 Relaxation :- 3 Year for OBC 5 year for Sc and St Number of attempts :- General 4 OBC :- 7 Attempts SC and ST Unlimited number of Attempts Subject :- There is no need to have a specific subject in the graduation and students from any stream can apply for the exam. To join IPS you have to apply for Civil Services Examination. Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year and if you have the qualification and age then you can apply for it. The age required for Civil Services Exam is 21 to 30 years for General Category. SC/ST Category gets 5 years age relaxation and OBC gets 3 years age relaxation. The selection will be based on the performance in the CSAT, Mains and Interview. For IPS cadre there will be medical examination and if you are fit then only you can become an IPS officer. IPS stands for Indian Police Service Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conduct civil service exam for IPS and other post every year.It is a kind of administrative service in India. Eligibility:-- Candidate should have graduation degree from a recognized university for this exam. To appear in IPS exam age should between 21 to 30 years.OBC category candidate can appear upto 33 years and SC/ST can appear upto 35 years. General category candidate can appear Four times, OBCs can appear Seven times in the exam. There is no limit for SCs/STs candidate to appear in the exam.
