Re: Which course is better for me between CA and CS being a candidate of pursuing final year B.Com?

Hi,

a cs is a professional whose responsibilities in a corporate are that of an

advisor for legal matters. Handling legal aspects that need to be covered

for incorporation, formation, promotion, reorganisation or winding up of a

company, are the responsibilities of a company secretary.

Eligibility:--

-the company secretary (cs) is a professional course which is conducted by

the institute of company secretaries of india (icsi).

-to become a company secretary, the candidates need to pass the

foundation programme, executive programme, and professional programme.

-candidates who have passed their 10+2 are eligible to apply for the

foundation programme.

-candidates who have cleared the executive programme can apply for the professional programme.

While chartered accountancy (ca) is one of the most prestigious

qualification in accounting and finance degree.

Eligibility:

-if you have passed 10+2 from any stream from a recognized school, you are

eligible to apply for the common proficiency test (cpt).

-if you have got registered for the common proficiency test 60 days prior

to the first day of the month in which cpt examination is to be held can

appear in the examination.

-common proficiency test examinations are held in june & december every year.

Career prospect:

They are involved in:

 preparing financial statements and management reports.

 liaising with internal and external auditors.

 carrying out taxation and auditing work.

 advising on tax and efficient tax planning.

 preparing the annual reports.

Related concepts in ca&cs:-

-the ca would have good aptitude skills with concentration ability,

figures,a systematic and careful way of working, and good skills in

analyzing.

-for becoming a company secretary, candidates requires proficiency for law and

management, the ability for good communication to deal with many types of

people, and the capacity to fit in the corporate environment.

In my opinion try to choose the course according to your preference and interest..

Good luck.
