HELLO, ABOUT GATE : The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted jointly by all Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in the country and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore GATE EXAM MONTH : The examinations are usually held in the month of February every year and the results are declared in March. Eligibility for GATE Only the following categories of candidates are eligible to appear for GATE 2013 > > Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2/Post B.Sc./Post-Diploma) > > Master’s degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent > > Integrated Master’s degree programs or Dual Degree programs in Engineering / Technology (Five year programme) > > Post-BSc Integrated Master’s degree programs in Engineering / Technology (Four year programme) > > B.E/B.Tech equivalent examinations, of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India) GOOD LUCK |

Next GATE exams would be held in January 2014 Eligibilty to apply for the GATE exams is: BE/BTECH/BARCH pass or Final year student M.SC/MCA/MA with subjects/branch Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent Integrated Master’s degree programs or Dual Degree programs in Engineering / Technology (Five year programme).This programme should have been done just after passing class 12th |

Re: What is the eligibility to apply for GATE exam? Engineering degree is the basic qualification required for GATE. M.Sc holders in specific subjects can also apply. There is no upper age limit. No restriction is there for the number of attempts. Those seeking admission to IIT’s should have at least 60% marks. |
