Re: Is it a right choice to do Aeronautical Engineering after Mechanical Engineering? well the answer to your query is a cautious right.... its right when done form a good college like the IITs ... see aeronautics has few jobs in India and its not a strength sector. however civil aviation is about to become big... so i will say appear for GATE and get into IITs you will have a good career with nice placement opportunities. Do not fall for the aviation colleges that we see in every neighborhood. best of luck. |

Obviously it is right.So many mechanical engineers are studying aeronautical engineering from IISc,IITs at M.Tech level.It has a huge scope for them.And so many research field and specialized field are there like Structure,Aerodynamics,Gliding and control etc etc.Real fact is that If you visit the profile of any aeronautical engineering faculty then 80% you will found from mechanical engineering background. |

Hi, if you are intrested in doing M.tech aeronautical engineering, it will be the right choice to do that since, it is related to mechanical. After qualifyed in GATE, you can have many institutes, which offers the M.Tech. program you wish to join. Since every institute have a different entry criteria for the same program, I suggest you that first identify the Institutes which offers M.Tech program in Aeronautical.
