Hi, GATE stands for Graduation Aptitude Test for Engineering. -it is conducted every year for taking admission in M.TECH. - you can apply in final year. - GATE score only valid for 1 year. - There is no limit in how many years to complete engineering. - there is no cut off in percentage to apply for the gate exam - there is no age limit for applying for gate exam . - though gate exam you get admission in IIT AND NIT COLLEGES AND SEVERAL OTHER COLLEGES . - to take admission in IIT OR NIT COLLEGES you need to score above 99 percentile . - to clear gate exam you should have good knowledge of your subjects . - join a gate forum for good preparation . From 2012 pre-final year student can not apply for the GATE EXAM ,only final year student can apply for it. All the best.. |

Hai friend GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.The candidates who have completed their Bachelor degree in science stream like engineering can appear for the GATE exam.Through GATE exam score you can get admission for the M.Tech course. There is no minimum percentage required to appear for the GATE exam.You can appear as many times as you wish and there is no age limit,no restriction for the no. of attempts to appear for the GATE exam. Final year candidates can also appear for the GATE exam.So,you need not worry about your percentage and you can definitely appear for the GATE exam. All The Best |

Eligibility criteria of GATE: *Candidate with graduation or post graduation following Courses can apply for GATE: ~B.E. ~B.Tech ~B.Arch Bachelors degree in Engineering ~Technology ~Architecture(4 years after 10 2/Post B.Sc./Post-Diploma) ~MSc. It is the examination conducted by iit's through these examination candidate are going to be take admission in different iit for m.tech. Eligibility criteria for gate examination:- 1) there is no age limit 2) must qualified your b.e/b.tech from any recognized university 3) final year students are also eligible 4) no fixed percentage of marks all the best..................... GATE exams eligibilty: BE/Btech pass or Final year student M.SC/MCA/MA with subjects/branch Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent Integrated Master’s degree programs or Dual Degree programs in Engineering / Technology (Five year programme).This programme should have been done just after passing class 12th GATE exams are conducted once a year by IIT |

The eligibility criteria required for the GATE examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of B.E/B.Tech degree in any discipline from any recognised college or university. * Age limit is not required. * No. of attempts is not required. * Final year contendors are also eligible. * No pending backlogs. * No percentage required. Courses in IITs, NITs etc. There is no requirement of any percentage of marks in B.Tech. for application to GATE. Apart from this the eligible candidate must be an Indian Male having either appear for the final B.Tech. Engineering Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University can apply for GATE. There is also no upper age limit for application to GATE. |

Necessary supporting documents must be submitted ONLINE or by post during the submission of the application form for the exam. Please read this carefully and make sure that your year of qualification is not later that what is specified below  Candidates with backlogs Candidates who have appeared in the final semester/year exam in 2012, but with a backlog (arrears/failed subjects) in any of the papers in their qualifying degree should submit 1.A copy of any one of the marks sheets of the final year, OR 2.A letter from the principal indicating that the student has a backlog from an earlier semester/year to be cleared, and therefore cannot produce a course completion certificate now. This certificate will also be present in the last portion of the PDF application form provided to you after you submit application online. |

This Examination is conducted for the admission of B.Tech pass outs in M.Tech course. Successful candidates can pursue M.Tech in colleges like IITs, NITs, BITS , etc. The Qualifications Required for GATE are : * You must have passed B.Tech/B.E. in any stream from any recognized college/university. * There should be no pending backlogs. * Candidates in final year can also appear in the GATE Exam. * There is no minimum percentage required for GATE Exam. * There is no age limit for the GATE Exam. * There is no bar on the number of attempts for the exam. So , you need not to worry about the minimum percentage as the educational qualification required for GATE doesn`t include this. For the admissions in IIT, you have to appear gate exam and get good score, i don't think so that, the b.tech percentage ll affect the for entry into M.tech. How ever if you have proximate 70% or above then it's better and safe. Good luck...~~ |

Re: Required percentage in Engineering to appear for GATE Exam? your engineering marks will not be considered for GATE. u have to score more than 25 marks in gate to get admission in 'any' mtech college, Remember there is different cut off for different branches. for Computer there was cut-off of around 25 marks. but to get good IIT college you will have to score more than 45 to 50 marks. |
